** Update - came home from work and tried updating again. Did nothing different (connected to wifi and hit the "update" button) and it worked this time. I suppose the answer is persistence, and just hoping that one time it'll work.
Have spent the last 4 hrs trying to setup my new Versa. No luck at all. Have tried everything I’ve found on these boards - phone software up to date (iPhone), fit bit app up to date. Restarted phone many times. Restarted fit bit many times. Ensured hooked to WiFi, Fitbit charged and plugged in. I still can’t get it to set up. It says it is downloading the update, gets to 97%, says installing, and then goes back to 98%, where it stays. Have nearly lost the will to live. I’ve set up plenty of fitbits before and never had an issue. Have also tried setting up using an iPad instead of the phone. Tried the MacBook, which didn’t work. Tried keeping Bluetooth turned off to make sure it’s using WiFi, but only get error messages when Bluetooth off. What is the secret to getting this thing setup? Thanks for any help.

So let's choose one device, then turn the Bluetooth off on the other devices.
If I read you correct your having trouble updating the firmeare, am I correct @SunsetRunner ?
Bluetooth needs to be on to update the firmware, wifi is optional. Have you tried through both wifi and Bluetooth.
Once it fails through wifi the app should then ask if you want to do it through Bluetooth. Say yes, if it still fails, let's setup the Versa again. This time skip the wifi setup, the app then will default to using Bluetooth.

I have had my versa a couple months: set up-had no issues, daily-had no issues. Since 219am Saturday; my Versa will not sync to my phone: I'm getting some bluetooth issue pop up. I told my friend about it, she said she had to take the device off her app and then redo the "set up device" .. So I did that. I took the device off; and now it will not let me set it up! I am doing everything I am supposed to do, and it is not finding the tracker. I did the app update, I restarted my versa, I turned bluetooth off and on, I am not currently running anything else on bluetooth.....
This is getting very aggravating. My friend said, go around your house and turn off anything that can connect to bluetooth? WHAT? That is insane, can someone help?

Thanks Rich. The trouble is the m not even getting a fail message. It downloads to 97%, starts installing, and then after 30 seconds or so, it goes back to downloading at 98%, and stays there for hours. Have turned off Bluetooth on all other devices. Will try to update via Bluetooth only. Had avoided that since everyone says it take some so long. Off to work, so will be late tonight until I can try again. Thanks
