Fitbit versa keeps switching off will display Fitbit symbol and do nothing else till I reboot. It has happened several times in last few days. It's older than two years old so no longer under warranty.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for trying some troubleshooting steps before posting over here. Because you're still experiencing difficulties with your Versa despite restarting it, please try our factory reset procedure following the next steps:
Take in consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.
