I purchased a Versa to replace my Blaze. I didn't have any huge issues with the Blaze, it is/was a fine product, I just like to have "the newest and the best." Unfortunately, the Versa isn't it. I typically have no real issue with setting up technology, I'm adept at getting things hooked to WiFi and I'm plenty friendly with computers. In that context, the Versa is nothing but solid frustration. It took three or four tries to get it connected to my phone. Also, even though it recognized my WiFi, it would not hook to it. Finally, even though it was linked to my account, it would not sync my data. All day, no sync. I gave it plenty of time to "work it out"...I turned my phone off and on, reset my Bluetooth, deleted and reinstalled the Versa to the app...everything I could think of. No luck. After much web searching, I found a few solutions (along with several other people with similar problems)...but most of them were multi-step workarounds meant to trick the device into uploading the data. And, seriously, why should I have to turn my phone's Bluetooth on and off every time I want to sync my watch? Do I really need to delete my Blaze off the account? Maybe I might want to wear both watches (not at the same time).
I ended up going back to the Blaze...but now I'm having serious thoughts about the Versa and all Fitbit products. For all this frustration, it makes me think Apple Watch might be the way to go.

Hi, are you using an iPhone as your mobile device? Regarding switching to an iWatch, you also going to regret that with a battery time af max 1.5 days. If you wanna switch, look for a Garmin. Samsung is also a possible replacement, but who wants to wear a watch that is as thick as the Samsungs.

I'd forgotten about Garmin. I've used their products in the past for cycling (705 and 800) and they were excellent. I'm definitely going to take a look at what they have to offer. Also, Samsung is about to release an updated watch that is "less massive"...maybe that's the way to go.
Thanks for the advice!

Hi,
Did you have to install an update on your Versus, I did and I am having the exact same issues as yourself, still am, my watch is not registering my steps now, I have to reset to sync and then it doesn’t work every time, it took me over 4 hours to set it and sort it out last night and continue to have issues with it1

Hey Daisy, I seemed to have issues right out of the box (literally). The first thing I did was charge the unit as instructed and link it to my phone's Fitbit app. The first indication I had that the Versa was going to be trouble was when it requested WiFi access. I use Google Mesh in my house. It is normally rock solid (everything I have connects to it without issue) but the Versa couldn't make the link. It recognized it but it just wouldn't connect. I also tried to connect it an older WiFi signal in my home that still exists in the background (a byproduct of Google Mesh)...no luck. The Versa ended up using my phone's connection to complete the update.
Sorry for the long answer...so, the short answer, yes, it is/was updated and I've always had problems with it.
It currently sits in the charger while I decide what to do with it...I can't use it because now it won't sync at all. I think it's mocking me. Seriously, I've had good luck with Fitbit in the past but I'm really starting to question my loyalty.
