Versa steps and floors data is inaccurate

My versa has been giving me around 100 flights climbed every day, and recently I believe it has been giving me more steps than I'm actually doing. I've reset the device by putting it off and on but haven't done a factory reset.  Any suggestions?

Hi @Floodums, due to the recent events, I apologize for the delayed response. However, let me welcome you to our Fitbit Community.

Regarding the steps and floors tracking issues that your Fitbit Versa has experienced, I appreciate the time spent trying to get this issue resolved before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a factory reset since you mentioned that it hasn't been performed yet. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Sync your device before this in order to avoid losing current data.

Finally, monitor your watch during the next 24 hours and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome.

Okay I did, now it just keeps telling me to download the Fitbit app to get
started.

Update: I got logged in and it's still giving me way more flights of stairs.  I'm at 100 or so when in reality I've climbed maybe 6.

Hi @Floodums, thank you for getting back. Since you mentioned that your Versa is still tracking extra stairs, I'd like you to try another way to perform a factory reset. Please follow the steps below:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. Set up your watch from scratch and see if it tracks your floors climbed accurately

Let me know how it goes.
