Versa stuck on installing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Downloaded software for Versa. While it was installing, the process froze. I have done the following to remedy the situation: turned Versa on and off, erased and re-loaded fitbit software on iPhone,   Turn phone on and off. Removed versa from Bluetooth discoverable list. No longer discoverable.  Disconnected all other Bluetooth devices from Phone. Nothing works because every time I turn watch back on again it returns the frozen installing state (loading bar still on screen) Can’t get help from Fitbit. Any suggestions? Is it possible to reset the Versa to factory settings using the buttons on the sides?

So my latest Versa works fine...so far.  Did a FIIIT workout today and the watch handled it admirably. Fitbit pay works well, but so far in Canada, only the Royal Bank is on-board -- you can only store a credit card, not a debit card. The biggest pain has been replacing the watch strap, but it's a minor quibble.  Will update as necessary.

Have you tried turning off the Versa. Leave off for about 10 minutes and then turn it back on. Also check your phone and maybe turn your Bluetooth and WiFi off and reboot that as well and make sure you don’t have any other apps open that would slow down your downloading process. If that doesn’t work then maybe you need to take it to the store where you purchased it and see if they can help.

I went through every possible scenario suggested by the Fitbit support team, as well as things that I read here, and other things that I found on the Internet. My Fitbit Versa was stuck in “fetching” screen. It would flash the screen on and off every second or so, and continued saying the word fetching. I deleted and downloaded the Fitbit app, I turned on and off the Bluetooth, and the wireless, I did a factory reset… Nothing was working  it would flash the screen on and off every second or so, and continued saying the word fetching. I deleted and downloaded the Fitbit app, I turned on and off the Bluetooth, and the wireless, I did a factory reset… Nothing was working. Then I decided to try to download another clockface and viola’ — it worked. Seems the clockface I was using was the problem! My Fitbit is now working, receiving texts, alerts, counting my steps etc.

Bought my versa in oct last year, and except for the firmware update a few months ago that resulted in some syncing and notification issues (i have to restart when notifications stop and they'll restart), things were pretty much fine.  Cut to this morning when i woke up and tried to see the time and realized the watch had reset... logo was onscreen with the message to setup using the fitbit app... 5 hours later and i have tried everything, now trying to setup as a new device but the same thing keeps happening, the software downloads but does not install, and it just keeps re-downloading then going back to logo + install fitbit app to setup message.  I am trying now over bluetooth only, but am understandably not hopeful!

At first I was believing that is was a Bluetooth issue. Well this morning I tried to sync again and it won't. Went to my router, took the versa off and placed it on the router. Went to the Fitbit app, clicked on wifi settings, it showed my wifi, clicked that, then my versa showed the wifi symbol on the face, went to my dashboard, and it synced. So do I assume my WiFi is weak? No way my wifi works all the way out of my house like 100 feet. Maybe the wifi detect in my watch is weak. Just frustrated with the versa. Never any connection problems with my charge HR or my blaze

Maybe you have a lemon. If it keeps getting stuck in installing, take it back to where you purchased it or write a letter to Fitbit telling them the problems you are having. I always purchase my electronic devices at Best Buy. I never have any issues when I’ve had to return something.

I returned my first one, and just boxed up the second one to return to amazon. They are great accepting returns. My first one the Fitbit customer service was great. Shout out to Benjamin. But having to send it to fitbit and paying return shipping, then waiting 5 days for them to replace, then not sure if you are getting new or refurbished. I did not want a refurbished one for $199. So I'm glad I bought from Amazon.

Dear @Ishrogh

How did you solve the problem with the vertical progress installing bar that re-appears and the fitbit is stuck again? I have the same problem.

I am throwing mine in the garbage. Anyone want it? It's been over a year and it won't update. It just hangs and hangs over night. Them gives an error message. Not worth the stress. I am.guessing it doesn't work with Samsung S9. Too bad. It has some nice features when it worked when I first got it.

It is a shame we spend over $200 for something and if they decide to replace it they will with the same one giving you the problem. I am so disappointed as I have been a fitbit user since 2013!

I bought it through Argos and they won’t refund me or send me out a
replacement until the shops open again with this covid-19 and that could be
a long while, will Fitbit do anything for me?

It was before the lite came out.... I ended up getting it to work
eventually, I think it took like 6 hours before I could get it to work, but
it eventually quit connecting about a year later and it was still in the
warranty period so they ended up sending me a new one and it connected
perfectly. So I figured out that the device was faulty after all.

Get ahold of Fitbit support. It has a 2 year warranty. They should send you a new one
