Versa stuck on restart loop

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

The Versa which I purchased in February seems to be stuck in a constant restart loop.  The watch was low on battery so I put it on charge and it keeps flashing to the start up logo then shutting down.

Tried the restart proper by pressing the left button and the bottom right button but this achieved nothing.

Is there something I'm missing here or am I looking at my 2nd warranty return since purchase.  The first unit was faulty out of the box and now this.  Not leaving me with a great feeling toward the QA for these devices.

@RobE71 welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it's stuck in a restart loop. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Please sync your watch before this in order to avoid losing current data.

After this, monitor your Versa and see if the issue gets fixed.

Keep me posted on the outcome! Smiley Happy

@Saren2 thank you for joining us in this thread and our Fitbit Community! Regarding your question, a restart can't be performed through the app and the factory reset needs to be performed through the settings option of your watch itself.

With this being said, try changing the clock face to one developed by Fitbit, not a third party clock face. After this, try the setup process again and see if the issues get fixed.

Let me know how it goes! 😀

@JuanJoFitbitI'm not sure if you understand the issue here. Several people here appear to have had the same issue, and your advice misses that we can't do anything with our FitBits. To restart my Versa, I'm told to hold the back and bottom buttons until the FitBit logo appears. I've done that, but all that happens is the logo appears, then disappears, then appears, then disappears, in an unending loop. The device won't actually start, so any suggestion to do anything within the software of the device can't help us. Is there a different button combination? Should I leave the FitBit in the charger? Should I let the battery run down completely?

Has anyone reading this run into this problem and found a solution?

Yes, mine does that exact operation. Logo, black screen, logo, black screen and it is endless until the battery runs down.

Has anyone solved this issue? My Versa Lite is stuck in a continuous reboot too.

I managed to catch it a the setup screen once and I tried pair it again. It paired then tried to update. At 1% into the update it started the darn reboot loop again...

They are owned by Google now. Built in obsolescence. It is just the nature of the beast for them. I'm thinking Apple watch and iPhone is my next purchase.
