Versa touchscreen issues

I have an original Vera purchased late October 2019.  It exhibited some issues with the touch screen registering ghost touches right out of the box.  Cleaning the screen helped but was not perfect.  I put a screen protector on it, this made it worse.  It has done it since purchase where from time to time the screen will activate and will not stay off, and sometimes it will flicker as if someone is attempting a gesture.  Normally wiping the screen would stop it, but it always seemed WAY too sensitive.

Now it is doing so much as to make the battery barely last 1-2 days.  My fiance has a Charge 2 that while not as bad had some similar screen freeze/touch issues.

The device is just over a year old, and has done this since the beginning.  I was part of the Fitbit arrhythmia study, and this Versa detected an Afib event for me.  I am also upset that while this model -could- be used to detect afib, as proven to me personally the feature is now only available on the Sense.  There does not seem to be a technical reason for this limitation, and this potentially life saving feature is being used to upsell more expensive models. I am still considering buying a Sense, but given past experience with this device, I am hesitant.

Does anyone have any input on how to improve/fix this Versa or if similar problems exist with the Sense?
