Versa turns off by itself

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

my Fitbit Versa has started turning off randomly, even when the battery is fully charged. The only way to get it turn back on is to put it in the charger. At first it showed that the battery was fully charged still, until the last few days it now shows a 0% battery message when it turns back on. I have done a reset several times and also a factory reset. It has come back from the factory reset once, but only lasted for about 5 minutes before it shut off again, kindly help me to resolve the problem

Hi there @mooserk83, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your post about your Versa's screen behavior and for taking the time to troubleshoot it prior to posting here.

While reading your post I was wondering if your watch vibrates when you connected it to the charger? If it doesn't, please try the steps below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

If the above steps don't work, please confirmed that you've tried the factory reset as described below:

  1. On the device, hold all three buttons for about 10 to 12 seconds.
  2. When the Fitbit logo disappears, quickly release the bottom right button, continuing to hold down the left and top right buttons (releasing the bottom right button as soon as the logo disappears is time sensitive).
  3. When the device vibrates, release all buttons.
  4. Wait for approximately 1-2 minutes while the device clears all data. Eventually, the Fitbit logo appears and the device boots and displays Fitbit.com/setup.
  5. When the device successfully resets, please use the normal out of the box process of updating the firmware. You can check: How do I update my Fitbit device? for more details.

Take into consideration that a factory reset deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your applications, alarms, etc.

I'm looking forward to your response, keep me posted.

Hi @MarreFitbit

Thank you so much for your help. I hope to be able to use my fitbit soon again, but I will wait patiently of course.

I am having the exact same problem and it began about a week and a half ago.  My Fitbit appears to be fully charged, but once removed from the charger it will remain on for a few seconds and then turns off.  I attempted to do a factory reset but it won't stay on long enough to complete it. Now my Fitbit is totally in limbo - no display and it will not come back on. Earlier this week, I was able to complete the update, but nothing is happening now.  I have had my Fitbit for just under 2 years. I had an issue with it charging before, but I bought a new charger and that seemed to fix the problem.  I depend on my Fitbit daily so I would appreciate if someone could help me. Thank you.

In addition to the original problem, I am unable to complete the factory reset because now that I was able to get the phone to recognize my tracker, it is prompting me to enter the 4-digit code from the tracker, but the tracker is stuck on the first screen that tells you to upload the Fitbit application (in all of the different languages).  It doesn't generate the 4-digit code.  This is so very frustrating!!!
