Versa unresponsive after swim

I've had my Fitbit versa for 1 year and get it wet nearly everyday (I'm a nurse and wash my hands very frequently). I keep it clean and dry otherwise. Recently I resumed lap swimming for exercise and during a swim workout today my versa completely shut off and will not power back on. My watch  previously worked for other swim sessions no problem. Today it started the workout fine but I realized it was no longer tracking and would not turn on. I have tried the methods of turning it off and on, charged it again, and tried a factory reset with no luck. This happened to my Fitbit ionic last summer (malfunctioned after a swim workout and was no longer under warranty of course) which lead me to purchase the versa. Any suggestions?
