My versa s battery is completely flat and will not recharge. Have tried different sockets/connections. Now my app is saying update tracker system but can't do so with flat battery.

Same! My battery completely died a few hours ago and I have been trying to charge it ever since with three different chargers and two separate computers and nothing is working! It was working fine 2 hours ago! And I also keep getting the notification to update but can't since it won't charge for some reason!!

If it has gone completely flat, plug the charging cord into your phones charging brick. Now let it sit there for a few hours. It may take up to 2 hours before the tracker shows any sign of life.

Hi there @Crafyani@shiwolf, and @DutchAussie, welcome to the Community Forums. Thanks for the details provided in your posts about the charging difficulties you've been having with your Versa smartwatches. I appreciate you've already tried fixing the inconvenience on our own and by following @Rich_Laue's advice.

Are your watches vibrating when you connect them to the charger? If they don't, please try the suggestions below:

  • Clean the charging contacts on the back of your device and the pins on your charging cable using the instructions in How do I clean my Fitbit device?
  • If the error "insufficient power source" appears on your device's screen, remove other devices plugged in to your power source, or plug your device in to another source.
  • Try a different USB port or a UL-certified wall charger.
  • Check the alignment and try reconnecting your device to the charging cable. For more information, see How do I charge my Fitbit device?
  • Restart your Fitbit once again. For more information, see How do I restart my Fitbit device?

Give this a go and let me know if you need further assistance.

I have tried every suggestion on here and even just left it on the charger over night and it is still completely dead. No vibration ever and just a black screen no matter what I do!! Could the battery just die like that? Is there any way to change the battery somehow? It was fine yesterday morning...this is just so frustrating!! Any other suggestions are definitely appreciated!!

I have tried all of this too - it’s only happened since the flash came up to update it.

OK guys I got mine working again finally!! I had just left it on the charger for the last day or so so I took it off the charger and of course it was still completely dead and black screen and doing nothing so I just held the buttons down for what seemed like forever..prob only a minute or two..and did a restart and all of a sudden it actually came on and my battery is at 100%. I did the update now and everything and it seems to be working back to normal now! Yay!! Hoping maybe this will help some of you!! Here is the link to tell you how to do a restart if you don't know altho I recommend holding the buttons quite a bit longer than the 10 seconds it says.  https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm

Finally it worked for me. I clicked at the same time the main button and the button bellow for more than 1 minute and my fitbit versa has resurrected and is charging now.

Thank you so much for sharing this tip. It was more efficient than the support given by fitbit.
