This is an old problem for me. The "sync" initiated from the dashboard "icon" spins round and round but my Fitbit app does not update to my Fitbit Versa tracker.
The message is "device not found." I have read enough to know the location setting is responsible for this but I cannot find the location setting to change so that the tracker is located. When things get really bad, I uninstall the Fitbit app and turn my phone off, then back on, then reinstall the app.
This is frustrating. Any help?

I understand how are you feeling and appreciate all the efforts in trying to fix this syncing issue. If your watch isn't syncing, I recommend taking a look at the help article: Why won't my Fitbit device sync? and follow the instructions provided there.
