Versa won't vibrate when getting notifications

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Today I updated my Versa and now I am receiving my texts ect. on the watch but it will not vibrate. I have tried to restart my phone and versa. I uninstalled the app, I checked my notifications. I think I've done practically everything but not sure what is going on. I also have a Google pixel, not sure if anyone is experiencing the same thing and knows what else to try?

Hi @sjanelli  Does your Versa vibrate for other things? The timer, alarms, when you reach your goal, when you put it on the charger etc? Or is it just for notifications it is not vibrating?

@sjanelli welcome to our Fitbit Community! I'm happy to assist you with your Fitbit Versa since it's not vibrating when you receive a notification. By the way, thank you for troubleshooting this issue before contacting our forums.

The information that asked @NellyG for, will be helpful so we can determine how to proceed.

In the meantime, I'd like you to try a factory reset. To do so on your device, open the Settings app > About > Factory Reset or Clear User Data. Please sync your watch before this in order to avoid losing current data.

Keep @NellyG and me posted! 😀

I am having the same problem! Also have a Google Pixel. No vibrate for notifications. I have restarted everything and this only started after the latest Fitbit update.

OMG me too.  Updated my Fitbit to the newest version last week and ever since then I haven't gotten text or WhatsApp notifications on my Versa.  I get call notifications though.  My settings on the phone and the app are set to notifications.  Did the restart, unpairing Bluetooth, restarting phone, re-pairing, uninstalling the app.  Did not do factory reset though, not sure if I'm quite ready to do that.  Really annoying.

Same here, updated yesterday, done a restart of the watch and my phone, disassociated it with my account and phone, reconnected, done the alarm and timer tests and the watch definitely still vibrates. All day sync is on and the always vibrate. Notifications definitely getting to watch because if one comes in on my phone and I swipe down it's there, but no vibration. Test call notification goes through fine too.

Would really like to know what's causing this!

I have an update!

After posting I had another go at trying to get things working, and touch wood, I have! Here is what I did:

1) Unpaired my fitbit from my app and turned off bluetooth

2) Restarted my phone and fitbit watch at the same time (hold the left and bottom right buttons down until the fitbit logo appears)

3) Re-paired my watch to my fitbit app using my phone

4) Disabled all notifications from the app to the watch using the 3 dots and pressing 'Disable Notifiactions'.

5) Restarted my phone again

6) Re-enabled all the nofications

7) My phone had to restart again (have a message in the app saying so)

Had various people text me several times while I was on the other side of the flat and hey presto, so far the notifications have been coming through and vibrating! I don't think there was anything else I did, if I remeber I'll update the post.

I hope this helps someone!

I have this same issue with my Samsung S9. I get all other vibrations for goals, step reminders, etc, but no vibrate for notifications. I will try what the person above did and provide an update.

I had the same problem until I realised Sleep mode was on in the watch settings.  Have no idea how that happened!
