Versa working intermittently with Notifications / Syncing / Exercise Auto recognition

I really love all the things my Versa is CAPABLE of doing.  I just wish it would do them dependably.  Sometimes I get notifications, sometimes I don't.  I have to restart my phone at least once in a 24 hour cycle to get it to sync properly.  Today, after 4 weeks of properly autorecognizing my work-outs as exercise, it decided not to recognize 35 minutes of aerobic workout, although it did credit me with activity time.  And when I entered it under "log previous" it took away my activity time.

I've tried restarting; I've tried shutting down the auto-recognize feature, turning everything off, turning everything on, shutting down the phone.  I am not inclined to reset the watch and lose a month of results.  Coming from the Pebble world, I am very disappointed.  Why can't it just do what it is supposed to?

The phone is a Samsung A5 (2017), which is not on the compatibility list - but that doesn't explain why things work one day, and not the next.  It does account for the sync issue.

Any insights would be appreciated.  I have searched and seen that others are having similar sorts of issues.  Will Fitbit consider patching the problems, since it seems more common than it should be?

Hello @Mimo_Mimo, I hope you're doing well, thanks for taking the time to share your experience with us. Smiley Happy

I appreciate your participation in the Forums and for letting us know you've already tried to troubleshoot these issues. Please note that when using a mobile device that's not on the list of compatible devices, it's possible that some features will not work as intended. Nevertheless, my best recommendation at this moment is to perform a factory reset on your Versa. A factory reset will remove all your installed apps and settings and the information that hasn't been synced yet, which is why I would like to ask you to sync your Versa before performing this operation.

To factory reset your Versa, go to the Settings App on your watch > About > Factory Reset. Note that you will need to set up your Versa as a new device after the process has finished:

  1. Go to the Bluetooth settings on your phone and check if your tracker is on the list of paired devices. If it is, tap on it and select Forget this Device.
  2. Open the Fitbit app and tap on the Account symbol at the top right corner of the screen, then tap on "Set up a New Device"
  3. Choose your tracker and follow the onscreen instructions to continue
  4. When the app asks you to replace your current tracker, please replace it and continue with the process.
  5. When a pop-up appears asking you to Pair your tracker to your device, tap on Pair and continue.

I hope this can be helpful, give it a try and let us know the outcome.

Thank you so much for your suggestion. Before I do this, will my data be
synced back to the device after factory reset? Not apps, obviously, but
tracker data.
