Versa2 and rowing machine

I find this one very odd. For whatever reason, my versa2 will not track when using a rowing machine. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks.

Hello @London99

Maybe I can help. Open your Fitbit App to the today page. Now scroll down and find your exercise tile. Tap the plus sign to the right of that tile. Now look at the top of the screen and tap “log”. Type in rowing in the search bar and select it. Now simply enter the details of your activity then save.

I hope this provides the best answer for your question. Please let me know. 😃 Happy Stepping!

Hello, Thanks for taking the time to respond. The name isn't the issue. The issue that I have is that it doesn't track the actual rowing workout. So if I just begin rowing for 10mins, it doesn't register I have done any rowing...heart rate sits mid 80's (it should be around 140). After rowing, and when I then select a workout eg: weights, it then begins to register my heart rate. Tried lots of different exercise options but no joy. 😞

Hello again @London99

Your Fitbit will not automatically track your activities on a rowing machine. You have to input your details of the row when your finished rowing to log that particular exercise as I described above. By the way the rower is an awesome workout. I love mine.
😃 I hope this clarifies everything.

@London99   You should not log rowing after the fact using the Log option.  Logging like that overwrites the calorie burn.  The best way to track your rowing is to use the Workout shortcut on the Exercise app on your Versa 2.  You can rename it to Rowing after you are done.  Indoor rowing enthusiasts have been asking for a Rowing shortcut since the Exercise app was released.  Fitbit has no plans to add it at this time.

Many users notice that their heart rate isn’t tracking correctly with certain types of exercise.  Try wearing your Versa 2 further away from your wrist.

Ok understand, I will give it a try.

Yes, I find rowing to be one of the best overall workouts.

Thanks for your help on this.
