On my Fitbit Alta HR I manually input my water aerobics time for my class cause I could not wear it in water. I now have the Versa...my question is will it automatically sense activity in the water or do I still manually input class time?

Hello @Ladydfm.  Welcome to the Fitbit forums.

First, if you are wearing the Versa for your class, you should not then manually log the activity.  Manually logging a workout is only meant for times when you are not wearing the tracker; otherwise it usually leads to confusion.

As for whether it will get auto-recognized as an exercise session, you could only find that by trying it out.  Water aerobics is not at activity that is auto-recognized, but, depending on your arm movements, it might be recognized as a walk or other activity.

But what I recommend for all exercise sessions in general is to start and end the exercise session manually yourself using the exercise app.  This ensures you get credit for the full time of the workout and you get to choose the category yourself, rather than counting on Fitbit to correctly recognize the activity.  I don't think this was an option on your Alta HR but I recommend taking a bit of time to learn how to use this on your Versa.

Here is a link that explains how to use the exercise app:

How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?

There might not be a Water Aerobics category set up but you can always use Workout for anything not specifically listed.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
