Weird GPS Reading

Hi, I'm getting really weird GPS readings in my runs. It looks like I'm running drunk and/or running on water.  I'm getting tob there'r b point where I'm seriously considering changing to a Garmen. I don't trust Versa is staying connected (it's not my phone so don't blame my phone.) I have no idea whether or not it's measuring my distance or pace accurately. Any suggestions?

@Aimzy   I am sharing two Help articles that might help you troubleshoot your problem.  Erratic, zig-zag lines sometimes mean you are missing a setting on your phone.  Check out this Help article.  Also, make sure your phone is fully compatible with the app.  This Help seems to be the most up to date.

As far as running on water, or off a cliff, as my maps have shown me, I don't believe Fitbit uses the kind of technology that your car's GPS uses to put you back on the road.  A map that is a little off seems to be within the limits of GPS error.  Typical current GPS location is "accurate" to a 16ft radius.  So you can be off the path and still be correct.

Keep in mind that things like tall buildings, trees and heavy cloud cover can interfere with mapping.

Go to optimize battery on your phone take fitbit off - problem fixed. This way your app won't sleep to save battery life during your run, therefore tracking awesomely!!!
