When new apps will become available?-Versa

When new apps become available, Get ready, There is no announcement and it is put with all of the other apps.  There is NO just released topic on the Fitbit Ionic which I have  and or guessing the Versa.

Maybe the moderator will ask us to vote for that option, as they do if you would like Spotify available for owners of the Ionic .   Most times times this feels like we are paid to be in beta testing market. 

Well good luck.  Personally I like my Ionic , just wish they had the right people running the show

I don't really seem to understand this post nor the reason why it's on the Versa forum.

It's not completely Fitbit's fault that third parties don't want to develop apps for its platform, you know?

Companies in general like to develop their own stuff. If they don't think that there's enough audience and return on investment to put their people to work and create an app for Fitbit OS, they simply won't. There's only so much that Fitbit can do about that.

Look at what happened with Windows phone, for example. The platform it's practically dead because the developers didn't care to work on apps for that one simply because there was not enough people to make it worth their time.

The difference is that, while the phone market relies heavily on third parties, you don't really need the third party apps for the Fitbit Ionic for it to do what you're getting it for (which is essentially to have a cool smart watch that is good at Fitness tracking) and therefore that shouldn't hurt sales on its own.

More third party developers will come into play the longer FitbitOS the platform exists and the more it evolves.

As of today April 10 2018....

I have a IPhone 7 

To check what apps are available 

access the fitbit app 

sync the fitbit app  

Tap on the Ionic 

Tap apps  Tap on All Apps 

scroll down to all apps  

tap on view all 

That will be all apps available for the Ionic 

They never highlight the new app released  you have to scroll thru all 

of the 147 as of now and figure out  which one is new 

There are over 250 Watch faces available

I think I missed the point on your message. Apologies!

You're completely right. There is no way of knowing when new apps are released. It's just horrible to navigate the gallery.

While I don't expect them to let us know every time an app is released, it would be very nice if the gallery would be revamped to make it easier to check every now and then. I have noticed that, If I'm checking a list of apps (having so few categories really doesn't help) and I click on one just to check the description, when I go back I have to start scrolling down from the very start. It's also supper laggy.
