Why does the screen go dark when I'm outside?

When I'm inside, my screen is fine, but when I'm outside, it is dark and I can barely read it, if at all. How can I change this? It has only started happening (last 2 months or so) and it is really annoying. Not sure if it was part of an update. I'd rather see it easily when I'm outside.

Check Brightness under Settings.  'Normal' says it auto-adjusts to lighting conditions.

Thank you. But where is this setting? On the watch or in the app? I see the quick settings on the watch has dim, normal, and bright, but no other info and can't find that on the app.Sent from my T-Mobile 4G LTE Device

Settings on the watch.  With 'Normal', it says 'Auto-adjusts to lighting conditions', at least on Versa 2.
