Won't connect on initial setup

I just got my brand new versa se and it won't connect on the initial set up. I have restarted my phone, Bluetooth, the watch, uninstalled and reinstalled the app, made sure fitbit app has proper permissions, I don't know what else to do. When I open bluetoon and select find new device I can see the versa but it won't let me connect to it.

Hi @Tommydragna  Dont try to connect the Versa via your phone's bluetooth - it has to be done by the Fitbit App - I am not sure if you are doing this, but if you are don't!

What phone are you using?

Try all the suggestions in THIS Help Article on set up issues.

I'm on a pixel 3a.

I tried everything in that article to no avail.

Hello @Tommydragna as @NellyG points out, a user will not be able to connect the tracker to the phones bluetooth. You should get an error saying "pair rejected by Versa"

You need to do the add device.

If it fails, then please post the step that fails along with any error messages.

What should I know about using the Fitbit app on my Android phone?

I stated it shows up on my bluetooth just to show it is attempting to connect to narrow down issues. I'm not getting any error codes. All I'm getting is check if your versa 2 is on (it is the screen on the watch says to start please download the fitbit app). I just tried again and it still won't connect. Again this watch is brand new and has never been connected to anything before.

Im experiencing exactly the same, got my Fitbit Versa yesterday. Unable to connect on initial setup. Huawei Software updated to latest version, Fitbit app uninstalled and reinstalled.  Tried it all.

Did you just continuously attempt to connect through the app?

Yeah pretty much.. And a huge amount of patience! 😉 I uninstalled the
Fitbit App, updated my Huawei Software to the latest version, reinstalled
the Fitbit app and tried multiple times. Tried one last time, before opting
to visit the nearest reseller for assistance and it miraculously worked..
MURPHY! Took approximately 3 hours to eventually complete the setup.
