data wrong on versa

I got a versa in July and it worked great until around the Oct. The data is incorrect now. My BPM goes up when i'm sitting  then goes down sometimes when I am walking. I was driving on Sunday and it was counting steps. Sometimes it will not give me stairs when I am using them then some times when I'm not I will get a stair count. I've restarted it many times and did a Factory reset which is what Fitbit ask me to do. Did not correct problem. What else could I do? I'm very disappointed with the versa considering how much it cost.

@wandadiane if factory reset hasn't resolved heart rate and other issues,. I'm afraid you will have to contact Customer Support for a replacement.

@wandadiane Could you please tell me what the heart range is when you're sitting? What numbers are we taking about? Also, if your versa counts ghost steps when you're driving or performing other then walking activities, you can make it "less sensitive" by switching Wrist Placement option (in the Fitbit mobile app) to Dominant. If you versa already recorded ghost steps and you would like to eliminate them, you can do that by adding Driving activity for that time period in your Fitbit mobile app. Hope that helps!

When it comes to stairs, it is not an exact science. The tracker is reeding very small changes in air pressure, and needs to see that the user is stepping. Letting the fitbit arm slide up the railing will prevent steps from being detected and no stairs counted.

On the other hand, wind or changes in pressure when entering or leaving a building may also give a floor.

My versa has started giving me wrong data re stairs. It reported 18 floors yesterday when I didn't leave the ground floor. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

@FrauTambo you could try a restart

I'm curious as to how windy the day was, or if you had any storms.

For most of the day I didn't leave the house.

I'm still curious as to how windy the day was and if their was any storms that went by. Both of which will affect the air pressure within the house. If steps where being taken while the pressure changes, stairs may be recorded.

Note that wind pressure can easily make a greater change. Pressure than the expected weight of 2 square inches of paper.
