faulty kilometer count

My Fitbit Versa counts the kilometers I walk, more or less accurately while I'm out, but when I get home and getting anywhere near my Samsung tablet it adds at least another 7 kilometers to the count all at once. I did talk to a Fitbit rep on Facebook messenger, but she didn't come up with any solutions I could understand.

It could be that your tracker is recording steps not kilometers. Because of the small width of the devices after a 1000 steps it shows steps with K. K meaning 1000, so 1.2 K means 1200 steps. Is this what you are seeing?

No it shows the steps correctly. Fitbit Versa is a fairly large watch and is quite clear. Something happens when I get home and it sends a message to my tablet, it then adds 7 or more km in one go. Yesteday I looked at my Fitbit before I entered my house, it said 13km, as soon as I stepped into my house it changed to 20km. Another time it said I had walked 24km in 3 hours, I'm 70 and reasonably fit, but not thst fit.
Sent from Samsung tablet.
