I understand that the fitbit versa 2 does not count laps real time while in the pool. You can only see your laps swam from the app. Does anyone know whether the feature of real time lap counting will be added to the versa three?
Just bought the Versa 3 after using Versa for over a year, which does count real time laps. No, Versa 3, like Versa 2, does not count real time laps. Your data only shows up on the phone's Fitbit App after you finish working out. Clearly the designers did not discuss swim features with a swimmer. What swimmer EVER would want only a basic stop watch to view while swimming? I was told today by a Fitbit representative that there is no plan to update the swim feature to include real time lap counting. This is a deal killer. I'm in shock and do not understand, other than economics, why the designers would leave out lap tracking on swim exercise. Makes no sense. Fitbit, PLEASE BRING BACK real time lap counting like is found on the Ionic or Versa.
This is unfortunately an issue across all newer FitBit devices including Charge 4. We are trying to bring a fix as soon as possible. As I was told, FitBit is working on bringing this feature so please check this thread for more information:
Please help! I find it hard to understand why a feature on my Versa is not on my new Versa 3. I am completely baffled!!! I agree with HikeVA. Clearly, no one asked a swimmer! Please bring this feature back or replace my tracker with one that has this feature.
@Busygmom you are completely right. Fitbit Charge 4 was unfortunately made without any consultation with swimmers. Otherwise it would at least have the lap count WHILE swimming included.
My Versa 2 died, just quit! Worked one minute and gone the next. Put on my old Versa and I like it so much better, it tracks laps and distance while swimming. I'm baffled why the company would abandon this feature on newer watch models!
Im so disappointed, i bought my 1st fitbit versa 3 because of the reviews and that i can swim with it. But not having the real time lap counter, i cant beat my previous swim, unlike my daughter in law who has apple sport 😪 i hope there will be an update to fix this issue otherwise ive wasted £200
Completely agree! the swim feature on my Versa 2 is utterly useless. What pool doesn't have a clock you can see? Why would I need my Fitbit to just tell me I've been swimming 30mins when I can see that already on the clock in the room!
Thankfully my gym has a Swimtag which does record laps and can link to FitBit.. so that's what I have to do!
Best AnswerJust upgraded to Fitbit Versa 3 and used in pool for first time today..... Absolutely gutted it does not measure laps... I am sooo angry 😡... Why would they not add laps??????
I've just had my Fitbit Ionic disabled due to the Ionic recall and I've replaced it with a newer model, namely the Fitbit Versa 3.
I can't believe my new Versa 3, supposedly an upgrade from the Ionic does not show lengths swam whilst swimming. The Ionic showed this clearly and was fairly accurate. Isn't it obvious that a swimmer want to see at a glance how they are progressing. Why has this feature not been included? Lets have a software update to fix this ASAP.
Also I note there is no Squash in the activities?
Does Fitbit even read reviews? I feel like as they bring out more Versa’s they get worse with features. I absolutely loved the original versa. It died after 6 years and I had to get a new one. I thought the 3 would be good. But the swim feature is worse. Who cares about time. I need to see how many laps I’ve done and how long. They also removed the store your own music feature. Why Fitbit doesn’t make these updates blows my mind. They would rather lose customers than do the updates thousands of people are requesting?
I was furious after I had to upgrade when my old fitbit literally fell apart.... To find out you can't see how many Laos you swim is ridiculous especially as I could on my old one... You right Fitbit not interested in reviews or suggestions... I am getting rid of my Fitbit Versa 3 and purchasing a Garmin 2 Swim its excellent and more.. Worth paying that extra for
