I have an old Versa 2 that worked perfectly until an update last month. I understand ultimate failure but my unit fully malfunctioned immediately after the update. Customer service resulted in no solution except for a discount that I can’t use on the product that I want and a free 6 month subscription to Premium which I can’t benefit from because I already have that on my account.
Is this a coincidence or has anyone else’s product become unusable immediately following an update?

Hi there @ErinEpley. Welcome to Community Forums.
I understand how you feel about this situation. I'd recommend you continue with Support Team as there is already a case with them.
Regarding the 6 months subscription to Premium, you can redeem it as soon as the previous subscription ends or its cancelled.
Have a good day.

The same thing happened to me! It worked absolutely fine until the update, then the green lights stopped, it wouldn’t track my sleep and the battery drain was ridiculous. Two days later the entire device failed to even turn on. It was never exposed to water the entire time I owned it and up until this update was installed it worked as advertised. After a long time Fitbit wearer (I started with the flex many years ago) I have now switched to the Apple Watch. I can no longer stand behind a company that literally kills its devices as soon as the warranty expires.
Bad business, Fitbit.

Response from customer service: Fitbit devices do no (sic) have a lifespan.
That’s it. No other context as to the product failure or timing in the email.
Clearly an accurate statement… but not responsive to my complaint nor question.

I’m amazed by their total lack of empathy, sounds like their customer service department was laid off a long time ago.
I’m happy to hear that you also made the switch, my Apple Watch arrived today and I’ve made a point to warn all of my Fitbit wearing friends about this “update”.
I was happy to see that there was an app I could use to transfer my YEARS of Fitbit data into apple health (powersync, totally free) and I feel better knowing that apple care has me covered if my device breaks or malfunctions.
I hope you enjoy your Apple Watch as much as I’m enjoying mine!

My Versa 2 touch screen no longer works...the timing is similar to yours!

I too have been a long time fitbit user. My Versa 3 watch now lasts only a few days, and the touch screen is unresponsive.

Which Apple Watch did everyone get?

I looked at the Android equivalent watch…but it only has a 2 day charge life. My Versa 2 used to go 5 – 7 days. So I have not made an alternative purchase yet.

Wow I came to this thread to see why my heart rate was no longer tracking, and now that you mention it the green lights aren’t working on mine either!

I decided to take advantage of the Discount Code sent by Fitbit -- but Versa 2 is on sale right now for $97. Because of the sale, the code did not work! This was a bare faced ploy by Fitbit to get me to buy a new, more expensive watch. So much for customer service.

Yes, this happened to my Versa 2. I did the update 2 days ago. It's clearly planned obsolescence. I'm done with the brand.

Mine stopped working too. Never had a problem. Did the update then it stopped working. Won’t charge at all now.

I have the versa 2. Woke up 2 days ago and Versa 2 stopped working. Called customer service twice still no resolution. This sucks!! Have been a long time supporter of Fitbit, but now having second thoughts.

Same here, versa 2 working fine, did the update then it was flat when I woke up. Charged it, then noticed the time was an hour and a half behind later in the day and it had 13% battery. Charged it again, now it’s stuck on the Fitbit logo, won’t reset.

So I even tried to restart my Fitbit and the green lights came back on for a little bit and again they’re now gone. Really disappointed because I bought this to track my heart rate while working out and now I have to look into something else. I’ve had this since March 2020 and had no problems until now. Now I’ll have to spend the money on something new.

Same! My FitBit Versa 2 has been working perfectly up to this weekend. Black screen, won’t sync, won’t hold a charge, unresponsive
