Hi! I'm new to the Fitbit community and am SO excited. I literally just got the versa 2 in the mail today and started to set it up but then realized that I need a mac address in order to connect my Fitbit to wifi, any ideas on how to find the mac address or mostly just any ideas? thank you!!

Don't need mac address.  Just let the setup procedure guide you.  It will search for Wi-Fi and prompt you to let it connect.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

I can only assume you have some for of MAC filtering enabled on your wifi as an added layer of security on your network.

To find the MAC address of your fitbit, on the watch it's self, swipe to the settings icon, then swipe down to "About" and the MAC address will be in that section. On mine, it's is just under the version number.

These replies are inaccurate.  Or, at best, incomplete.

Why this fitbit requires network connectivity is a mystery -- but if it DOES need to attach to my network, then I need the fitbit's MAC address in order to acquire access to the network.  Previous fitbits have been happy just connecting to my iphone.

In any event, several of the suggested "answers" have stated that one needs to swipe left in order to reveal settings (including the MAC address).  However, as others have already noted, swiping left (or right, or up, or down) produces no response from the watch.  This watch is off to an awesome start!

My home Broadband is locked down and requires a MAC Address to stop people leaching my wifi.

I'm glad to see some responses about where to find the MAC Address from the phone.

I just bought the Versa 2 to replace an older watch, which is about to fall off my wrist (I can't replace the split strap on my Polar RCX5 as there is a button on it to operate the watch. I got a Versa 2 for £180 as I was not prepared to pay almost £400 for another RCX5)

My Versa 2 is downloading an update while it charges, but it's been running for over 1 hr so far and olny reached 30% download! Once downloaded, I'll search for the MAC Address and allow the watch through my Firewall to wifi!

Scroll right (swipe left) to Settings; then scroll down to 'About'.

Found it, it's done by the phone, not the watch!

I have a similar WiFi setup where you have to add the device’s MAC address before it can connect to your WiFi. If you look on the packaging for your device, you should see a 12-digit combination of letters and numbers. This is your MAC address. Setup time is considerably less if it’s connected to WiFi, but as others on this thread stated, you can use Bluetooth to complete the setup then find the MAC address by swiping to the settings screen on your watch.

I know this is an older post.

Always allow the watch to fully charge before trying to connect it to a device. The battery power will stay mostly on battery if not at least 90% more times than not if this is the first time charging up and it will slow the initial sync by about 10-60%. Keep it connected until it has fully finished syncing the initial sync.

I have tech certs.
