Hi there, so i've done some reading on the Forum which states this error is already resolved however I'm still seeing "Notification service not running. A phone restart is required to re-enable notifications on your tracker."
This is a new device purchased for my wife for xmas, the fitbit app is freshly installed and granted all permissions.
Phone and device have been restarted - no change.
Permissions have been re-added by deleting data from app and being re-prompted (as per another forum user's suggestion) - no change.
Notifications seem to work for about the first hour or so of setup and since then have stopped, however the test phonecall function from within Fitbit app works fine.
It's driving me mad, please offer some suggestions on how to resolve!
Versions
Fitbit app version (android): 3.12.1
Fitbit Device: Versa Special Edition Firmware Version 32.70.7.14
Phone Device: Huawei Y7 2018
Android version: 8.0.0 (Oreo)
thanks a lot.

Hello @Buchananandy, welcome to the Fitbit Community forums. Sorry for the late reply.
Thank you for all the information about your Versa that is not receiving the notifications and the error message "Notification service not running".
Some people are still receiving this error message you mentioned. The team of developers is already aware of this and they're working to find a solution as soon as possible.
I've also confirmed this phone model is currently not listed here as a compatible device with the Fitbit app: Which devices are compatible with the fitbit app?
If a device isn’t listed it doesn’t mean it won’t work with a Fitbit tracker or smartwatch, however, we cannot guarantee optimal performance on devices for which we have not tested and confirmed compatibility. Some users have also been able to receive notifications after following the steps listed in this article: Why are notifications delayed or missing?
Let me know if you have further questions.

Hi,
I'm having the same problem.
I have a compatible Samsung Galaxy S9 and have done ALL of the recommended fixes.
The app Fitbit box is checked and I allowed permissions in watch settings. I've cleared data/storage, reinstalled Fitbit, forced stop of app, re-paired with phone, restarted phone repeatedly, power reset Versa....NOTHING.
I haven't gotten notifications for weeks. It's one of the main reasons I went with the Versa and now it doesn't work.
Versa is syncing fine... don't understand why I can't get notifications
PLEASE HELP
Thanks

Hi Davide Fitbit, can you please give us some update on this issue/bug?
We are spending money to get a best health tracker but ended up having this issue.
I am using FItbit Versa 2 and was Mi band 4, if your team cannot solve this issue, which should not exist at the first place, i will feel so regret to join Fitbit family....I never experience this at all from my previous band....
