Can anyone who currently has the preview trial tell me if there is the ability to connect/share your metrics with a doctor/coach?

There definitely is not an option for this yet. The preview is bare Bones. With small improvements coming here and there. 

I would imagine a feature like this would probably be in springtime

I agree, definitely not available yet. There are still a lot of inconsistencies at best with the preview. I wouldn't expect much from it at this point.
