I changed over to the public preview and no longer have a calorie budget that adapts to my activity. It looks like I have to set a hard budget. My calorie burn varies by around 500 depending on if im taking a rest day or having a workout or working out and having an active day outside of that. With a hard set budget, it's really difficult to understand how much more I can eat. I tried setting it to my BMR but then even if I had a very active day, it tells me I was wayyy over budget on food. If I set it higher but then have a rest day, it tells me I'm under budget even if I operate. This is such a pain... im manually calculating all my calories and trying to manage that against burn. It's turned calorie tracking into a notebook and calculator chore for me. How can I set a budget that moves with my activity level? This is literally all I use fitbit for and it's a useless device for me without the feature.

Hello @magdalena_
Do you see the same issue when you switch back to the regular version of the Fitbit app?
Fitbit Public Preview is still very much a work-in-progress. Based on the posts that I've read, there are currently issues with food & calorie tracking in Public Preview. The team is aware of the issues and are working to fix the problem, but we haven't seen a timeline for the fix yet.

Agree with this - the public preview NEEDS to support that dynamic calorie deficit feature that the old version uses. This is a main feature (and one that sets Fitbit apart) that should not be lost.

Completely agree. The dynamic calorie deficit feature from the old version of the app is critical. I cannot emphasize enough how important that ongoing tracking throughout the day has been to me being successful in losing weight. It helps me decide what I should or shouldn't eat throughout the day, as well as how much more activity I need to meet my calorie goals. Fitbit support team--PLEASE bring this metric over to the public preview version of the app.
