3rd Party Apps on Sense 2 and Versa 4

Restore the ability to install 3rd party apps on the Versa 4 as was possible in previous versions of the watch.

Agreed. My Versa 4 is pretty much just an Inspire HR with a better screen and GPS.

@YojanaFitbit @LizzyFitbit this is now becoming one of the most voted on feature requests for the Fitbit Sense 2 and Versa 4 smartwatches. When will we start seeing some traction in bringing back third-party apps (especially ones like Spotify and Google Assistant) to these product lines? A lot more people have purchased these units over the holiday period and a good way to disappoint loyal consumers is to turn a blind eye to this glaring obvious oversight in product development.

Very disappointing that my new Sense 2 is so inferior to my old Sense. PLEASE allow 3rd party apps asap.  Very shortsighted!

Why can I not install Spotify on my Versa 4 ? Surely having the newest model mean having access to all the features of the previous model but with extra ?

This is very disappointing.  I purchased two Sense 2s for my daughter and myself. We're ready to return! Are they trying to force us to spend more money to get their Google Watch? To lose features when you upgrade is wrong.  Add the 3rd party apps!

I am really wondering how many clients do they need to be upset about 3rd party apps to do something about it?

I mean, come on already! Enough is enough!

Just got the Versa 4 as a gift yesterday. Upgraded from an Inspire 2. Wanted to stay with Fitbit over apple. I cannot believe I can’t put Spotify on this. I will be returning it tomorrow due to the lack of 3rd party apps. It’s clear from these comments Fitbit does not seem interested in addressing this. Without 3rd party apps you cannot call this a smartwatch. This was my big Christmas gift & it’s a total letdown

Long time fitbit user here.

Bring back third party apps.!!

Received the versa 4 for Christmas. Absolutely hated it. Returned it.

I just got the sense 2 today and am considering returning it As well.

Who made the decision to downgrade all the newer watches? Youre going to lose a lot of loyal users over this.

Very disappointed with the fitbit brand right now.

Absolutely love the Fitbit product line and have been using them for years. Never liked the Apple Watch but after this step back it’s seems like it’s time to move away from Fitbit. I absolutely hate having my cell phone on me while running and with my versa 2 I could download playlists but sadly no gps. Getting the Versa 4 I was excited for the gps but was blown away with no way to play music off of it. Now I still need to carry my cell phone. What an embarrassment.

I have to agree with the other comments here. I have been a long time Fitbit user with multiple versions of devices. I just got the Versa 4 as a gift but guess I will be returning it as many others are doing. It appears that no one official is actually watching these forums as there has been no official response for months as far as I can tell. So much for customer loyalty and support. If this is the kind of support Fitbit users can expect now from Google, then it is truly disappointing. I will be sure to spread the word in every way possible to stay away from Fitbit devices moving forward.

Hi @Lilian96, thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about adding Spotify app on Versa 4. I've moved it into a similar request. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.

Thank you again for your participation in the Feature Suggestions Forums.

I look for answers as to why they removed those apps but the only fitbit answers I've found were "we appreciate your response." I got this as a gift but now I'm debating if I should ask if they still had the receipt. Having maps would be extremely useful, don't know why google maps in 2023 is the only one allowed, or the other myriad of apps on the fitbit store.

Wtf will return. No third party apps a you kidding. That’s a fitness tracker - not even a good one- not a smartwatch

I was really excited to receive this new watch as a chritmas gift, to upgrade from my versa 2. Over the past few days of getting to know the device, and now finding this forum, I am sad to see that the third party apps are nonexistent. I agree that this watch feels like a downgrade in many many ways. The ECG is cool, other than that I cannot say I'm happy with this watch. I'm strongly considering returning this and going back to my old Versa 2 with the good apps. I hope that Fitbit changes this soon, as many people are disappointed by this omission of apps.

I would love third party apps. I just want the basic function of seeing a calendar or other basic things that something labelled as a smartwatch should very easily be able to do!

you need the ability to download mp3 audio and go running without a smartphone

All Fitbit moderators do is either praise suggestions or delete input that is not praising Fitbit or conforming to the idealistic Fitbit picture.

Come New Year, I'll trash all Fitbit "smartwatches", premium memberships and whatnot.

Abandon Google and what goes with it comes next, and, though I would have sworn not to, start a new life in the hands of Apples iPhone and apple watch.

A lot of Fitbit users will be doing the same thing- I bought my Sense 2 when it was released and thought it would be a step up from the Sense 1, with 100s if 3rd party apps etc, but was blindsided by them.

I bought the 'latest' Versa 4 for my daughter, assuming that this is the latest incarnation of Versa series. I was utterly shocked to find that there are almost no existing game apps working on versa 4! I should have bought a versa 2 which supports almost all third party game apps. I thought now my daughter can enjoy the games, just like her friends who had old Versa devices.. but even though she has the latest versa, she can not install any apps. Extremely disappointed.

Still being advertised as a smartwatch with the ability to download hundreds of apps . . . I'd imagine this would qualify as false advertising. It's an awesome fitness tracker, but it is certainly no smartwatch.

Totally disappointed!

Received a versa 4 for Christmas as an upgrade from my versa 2. Was super excited when I unboxed it only to discover that it is a downgrade from my previous model. Not allowing 3rd party apps such as Spotify makes this nothing more than an overpriced fitness tracker. I will be returning it and moving to apple as the developers seem to be ignoring the community’s requests on this

Whose bright idea was it to release a fitness based "smart" watch without music controls? Be right back, going for a run with my new revolutionary smart watch but still have to pull my phone out of my pocket if I want to control my music. What a joke. If this doesn't get corrected, along with third party app support, I am done with Fitbit. I will buy a real smart watch from a competitor and give my Sense II to my 3 year old to wear and play with, as he seems to enjoy it much more than I.

Just reading through these comments I would think who ever is running Fitbit's Product team should probably get this ball rolling.

It’s absolutely bizarre that you guys would include the Developer Bridge but no way to develop anything.
