This is only a glorified tracker, most certainly NOT a smartwatch. Absolutely ridiculous that there are not options as with other FitBit smartwatches. When more varied apps become available that extend the functionality of the Sense 2 shall it become a smartwatch. Wish I had not purchased this when I did as I didn't over-research it like I do for EVERYTHING else because I would have gone a different route, but alas it is too late. $300 for an overpriced glorified tracker + even more on bands that I wish I had back...
Just got my Versa 4, I wish I'd seen all the complaints before I got it. I really don't want to return it, but the music feature was something I was really looking forward to. I hope people haven't given up on this forum because it doesn't seem like 1,500 votes has done the trick yet.
Why the F*** does it take so lang to restore apps to sense-2 that are already there in other and previousl Fitbit devices. Apps like a simple agenda and third party app like Spotify. why does Fitbit not respond to basic questions like these??
is there any developments on these topics besides “thank you for responding and suggestions”???
Ditto. Very disappointed in there being no 3rd party apps. I wouldn't have bought the Versa 4. I moved up from my Versa 2 ... which had apps. I called FitBit Support and complained because there was no Gallery of apps. I was told that as the Versa 4 was new, there weren't any apps yet available for the Versa 4. 😞 Don't lie to me, that makes it worse. FitBit has made a decision to not support 3rd party apps ... which is D U M B. This is probably my 3rd, 4th or maybe 5th FitBit device. It is the device of choice at my house ... NOT ANY MORE.
I agree with your sentiment and have told FitBit support as much but to no avail. I joined this thread a few months ago when I inquired about 3rd party support and was pointed in this direction by FitBit's customer service.
They made it seem like there was something in the works to have this eventually added but the lack of updates or urgency on their part makes it seem like they had no intention of adding this to the Sense 2 (my device) or the Versa 4.
I am guessing that they are trying to phase these out with the "recent" acquisition of Google and will focus on their lineup of Pixel watches which is pretty disappointing especially since you are alienating your existing base of customers (and keeping us in the dark).
The versa 4 currently does not support any apps apart from the original ones that come pre installed. Apps such as music, calculator ect would be very useful.
Really disappointed with the lack of music apps on the versa 4. I upgraded from the versa 2 thinking that with the added GPS capability I could finally go on runs without needing my phone. Surely there is a suitable integration with Google music that could be provided? I would even pay for Fitbit premium if this was a feature!
Can you please bring back the 3rd party apps on versa 4 and sense 2 so disappointed i have versa 4 but i cant install apps. And i have also have versa 2 i have so many apps there so please bring back the 3rd party apps on versa 4 and sense 2
Hi @Patrick3733, thanks for taking the time to share this product feedback about adding 3rd-party apps to the Versa 4 with us. It is really sad that Google is purposefully ruining these devices. I understand their goal is to push people to the Pixel Watch, but honestly was it so bad to have several layers of items, instead of screwing users by not only not enhancing, but instead actually stripping things away.
And on top of it, you leave this lingering under "under consideration" when you know **ahem** well, you pulled the SDK, and there is no intention of allowing apps back on these devices. You are turning the FItbit line into a basic fitness tracker, and making the PIxel your only "smart" watch.
So, disappointing on so many levels. I thought when Google stepped in, they were going to be the White Knight to bring this to a new level. Not turn into a Robber Baron, raiding the company of any useful IP, and leaving the shell behind.
Dear Fitbit Pleease Bring back the 3rd Party Apps that we love on Versa 4 and Sense 2 dont downgrade the newer models of Fitbit. Please how ever read this PLEASE FORWARD it to the Company of Fitbit to prioritize this and make an action to this ASAP!!!!
I loved my original Versa and Versa 3 and purchased the Sense 2 in January. I am soooo disappointed that there are no third party apps available, well there are virtually no apps available.
I love fitbit and have always loved tracking my health and fitness, but on the Sense 2 I can't expand the info on any activity or sleep which is disappointing.

So... since Google decided to ruin Fitbit and nobody cares about feature requests, does anybody here know or tried a good alternative? I'd like to have a smartwatch, capable of playing music without a phone, tracking health data, and having an integrated sleep phase alarm clock. It seems like there is no good alternative for the smart alarm clock, since Google keeps the patent... Those Apps like "Sleep As Android" drain way too much battery.
OMG I'm distraught! My versa 2 heart monitor stopped working so I HAD TO buy a new watch! My versa 4 arrived today! I'm in shock AND SOOOOOOOO DISAPPOINTED! How does it not have music control features?! This is so useless!
I Want to return the watch ! This is sooooooo disappointing!
The upsetting thing is that they advertise and market these watches as "smartwatches" and literally they couldn't have made a dumber decision! Why does one remove music control from a smartwatch? I'm so disappointed! It literally ruined my day! I was so excited to receive my new versa 4.. but i'm just angry and disappointed. I'm going to return my fitbit watch unfortunately and quite possibly change brand altogether unless this is fixed imminently.
.. I can see that I'm not the only one upset about this.. so I'm not really sure as to why fitbit haven't addressed this!
I am keeping a close watch on the Google pixel watch. Assuming that now when Google+Fitbit resources all focused on pixel watch, hopefully something good should come out of it.
I wouldn't consider the Pixel Watch based on what they are doing, or rather NOT doing, with the Sense 2. Even the cheap crappy smart watches have some of the basic functions so many are asking for. If I'm ever in need again of anything similar I will look elsewhere.
Versa 4 needs compatibility to 3rd party apps. Otherwise it's just a watch with a fancy face. An overpriced watch with nothing special. My partner bought me this watch as an upgrade and it is instead a downgrade. I want to listen to my music without dragging my phone around. To be able to exercise with my tunes.
This was supposed to be a feature. I highly recommend you fix it before you lose another customer to smasung watch.

After reading the comments I agree. I think fitbit owes the community some refunds for such a crap show for last six months. All the watches stopped working with the merger with Google. All the features got stripped. Boo. Such bad business.
