Ability to disable automatic goal notification

It would be great if we were able to turn off/disable the vibration on the automatic goal notification.  It can be quite startling.  My heart just about stops almost everytime it happens.

So I’m new to Fitbit, just got my Charge 3, it’s nearly 2019.......and still no option to turn off the vibration which I want to do within the first 24 hours of wearing mine.

The requests on this thread go back nearly 4 years..... oh dear.......🥺

I solved my problem by setting the steps goal to 100,000 steps.

One would think that after all the complaints; they would have fixed it by

That's cute. You think that they care.

I got rid of my Fitbit quite some time ago. And…

I know which brand I'll never again buy.

The vibrate feature drives me insane! It's enough to make me stop wearing my Fitbit. To not have the option to turn off vibrate is irresponsible, in my opinion. As a user experience designer, I am amazed that Fitbit has not considered this. Please add this feature pronto!

I really would like not to be annoyed be crazy vibrations on goal alert. Please don't answer to set a higher goal because that is not acceptable!

I think the vibration should have even more control function. Why not program to be able to turn off, or even just to vibrate more gently? If you could turn down the intensity, like you can on any smartphone alarm, it might not be such a bad feature to continue using. Left as it is, we really need to be able to disable as often as needed. Or even set hours for it, like, the vibration only works from 8-5 or whatever, when desk jockeys like me need a reminder to stand up for a minute. Just give us more control. This is the most obnoxious and intrusive setting for us to have no control over or way to turn off.

I had mine buzz at me during the middle of playing a shot during tennis today, which completely put me off.

Even if you don't add the option for it to be manually turned off, can it at least automatically delay itself if it auto-detects sport and do the notification when it detects that the sport has been finished?

I also really wish I could turn off this notification.  I love my fitbit, but I find this feature to be very annoying.  I guess, like others, I'll change my step goal to something high so I don't get interrupted and think I'm getting a call or text.  It's not very accurate, anyway, which I understand is difficult to do with something like steps, so I don't even care what it says I've done.

I have the vibration setting set to Normal, yet when it vibrates (reaching my step goal), it is like an electric shock along the back of my hand to my ring and middle fingers.  My fingers will actually twitch.  Most uncomfortable.

Can we PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be able to disable this stupid feature! I get so much anxiety looking at my steps getting close to 10,000 and knowing it's coming soon but don't know exactly when (like watching a horror movie). And I don't want to put up my goals so far that I never reach them because I like looking at my watch and app knowing I accomplished my goals for the day. It just seems silly that you can disable every other notification except this one. I don't need a celebration. I don't even care if you want to keep the silly colors flying across the screen, I JUST WANT TO STOP BEING SCARED EVERYTHING I REACH THE GOAL. I have jumped in my seat, screamed, and gotten so spooked just because of it. It always comes at the most inopportune times and I don't understand why we cannot turn it off. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!!

THE FACT THAT IS THREAD HAS BEEN GOING SINCE 2015 IS RIDICULOUS. PLEASE FIX THIS.

FitBit DOES NOT UPDATE THE SOFTWARE at an acceptable rate. I have other smartwatches like Xiaomi and I get more and more focused updates and improvements. Fitbit Versa is totally unreliable as a pedometer, calorie counters, but good in heart rate recording. Annoyed by the laconic feedback from the Fitbit team to the client's requests, I SOLD MY VERSA two days ago (after 3 months) and I came back to Xiaomi looking for new products from China (Huami Amazfit Verge maybe)

It would be sad if Fitbit went the way of the Blackberry just because it
didn't listen to concerns about this issue. More & more people are
switching to other trackers because of this....

I got my Versa a week ago. I got my "calories goal reached" heart attack yesterday at goddamn half past eleven pm. Today I learned that not only it can't be disabled, but there's a thread on it going since friggin 2015 and nothing changed. Thankfully there's the 45-day return policy.

I agree undesired vibrations and notifications are not only annoying but potentially dangerous. I ask that the company finds a way to let users remove them.  I've set all my goals to the maximum numbers now. But don't think this is how this should all work. Good product overall but will make me more likely to recommend to friends if one is sure that all vibrations can be turned off if so desired.

I was in the middle of interval training last night when I hit my step goal.  The notification on my fitbit reset the interval timer.  I'd like to turn off the notification if it is going to screw up my interval timer.

Adding my voice: I HATE the buzz from my Fitbit Charge 3 and have been able to disable every notification except this one. Please add the goal achievement notification to the list of notifications that can be turned off. This should not require a complicated fix-- since it's possible to turn off other notifications, I see no reason why this one can't be, also. I know I've achieved my goal by looking: I don't need or want the horrible buzz.

I agree with the others in the thread. I would like to be able to turn off the vibrate function on my Charge 3 as it has woken me up at night (ironic as it is supposed to be helping with sleep), and can be distracting during the day. Plus I in certain circumstances it could possibly be dangerous. An exception/option (perhaps) could be that it is left on for alarms/timers you have set.

I like the fact that my Versa 2 keeps track of my 10k per day steps goal. However, whenever I hit my goal, my wrist erupts with vibrations and fireworks to celebrate the goal.

This is extremely distracting, especially when it happens in the middle of an exercise. There should be a way for the device to manage against the goal, but without the dev

A lot of us find the constant buzzing on notifications and updates extremely annoying. There is currently no way to turn this off aside from the "DND" feature. PLEASE add a new feature that is a simple "on/off" for vibrations in general.

I get celebration when I achieve 22 active minutes. I’d like to be able to disable this feature, as it can be easily confused with someone calling me.
