Ability to log Meditation

Just like we have the ability to manually log Food, Water, Exercise in Fitbit, we should have the ability to log Meditation. It would be good to have this as an independent activity that we can set goals and measure against just like Food or Exercise targets

Hi @anish09! Good idea, that'd be useful to complement with the Relax Feature. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us. Keen to hear what others think?

I really like the relax feature but would really appreciate a meditation feature added to it, maybe including a timer and the ability to track as a sort of activity (right now it just thinks I am sleeping when I meditate).

Allow logging of previously finished mindfulness session - start time and date, end time or length.

Allow tracking of mindfulness session. A button to start tracking and a button to end tracking. A session length may also be set at the start of the meditation to use as a timer. Bell chimes at the start and end of the session will greatly help.

I do my own mindfulness/meditation practice. I would like to be able to log these in manually.

Just a suggestion on the app. I really love the addition of mindfulness tracker but sometimes I accidentally exit before it’s finished and then it doesn’t give me the option to add it to my tracker that I completed a session. It would be nice if you could log your own the way you can a work out.

I agree! If we have a mindfulness goal, but can't add when we do mindfulness, what is the app really tracking? Input when we use the app, not when we are practicing mindfulness in our lives...

I have a couple of mindfulness apps that I use that would be nice to integrate. If not, I would like to be able to log the data so that it reflects all the other things I track that change my heart rate. I do this with my other fitness apps that do not integrate and it is a great way to track my health. I enjoy the Fitbit mindfulness suggestions, but have been using my other apps for years and want to find a way to make them work together.

+1 to @thesquirrelnest comment. Doesn't even need to be an API move to (which is difficult to broker with other apps) but feature parody is extremely valuable here. I meditate with no application but am still logging somewhere outside of fitbit.....which is counterintuitive to what the goals should be of your users. I want this thing to be my health and wellness nucleus but it leaves pieces to be desired.

I already have a very powerful meditation practice. What I suggest is that a mindfulness session tile be added to the existing off-the-shelf mindfulness sessions that simply says personal meditation practice. That way I can use my device sensors to track all my data during my meditation and that can all be logged in my mindfulness tracking.

This is different than my suggestion. The one you join me with a suggestion to log meditation. I'm suggesting that I be able to use my own meditation within the mindfulness app so that the tracker can be logging all of my data while I meditate rather than only doing it when I use one of the pre-written mindfulness sessions.

I also would love to be able to log my meditation practices. Integrating with headspace would also be an addition welcomed feature.
