Able to create a custom meal and indicate number of servings

I would really like to be able to build a recipie and then indicate how many servings it makes and how much I ate and see nutritional break down by servings too.  I think it would way easier than trying to enter all ingredients then when its time to eat the leftovers I can just add the recipie serving.

I definitely would like to see something like this. I make my own smoothies and it's just super time consuming to enter every ingredient everytime. It would be great to add all those ingredients to a recipe/meal and then you would only have to add that recipe/meal.

I've only recently started using the Food option to track what I'm eating as a way to troubleshoot some food sensitivities. As someone that cooks a lot with fresh ingredients, it would be a great improvement to be able to log a meal once with all its components both packaged and fresh and then use it again in the future. It would be great to be able to recall the meal and then select a portion and have the nutrients and macronutrients adjust based on serving size. Also, it would be nice to have a notes section for logging each day so a user can add additional info about the food they ate. If you're trying to track an allergy, it would be nice to have a note you can add to go back and document how you felt that day based on what you ate.

This is a great idea. Another way this is helpful is if you have left overs. You may make a dish and eat 2/3 for dinner one night and finish up the 1/3 the next day for lunch. I often find myself inputting all the separate components of a meal that I make thinking I'm going to eat the entire dish, but when I don't finish it, I have to go back, try to reduce each item by the amount I didn't eat today, and then do the same thing the next day when I finish the meal.

When adding food, make an option to save the whole meal under a name that can be accessed another day. For example if I was to have spaghetti bolognase for dinner, I would input all the separate ingredients. Then save under ‘spag bol’ when I make it again at a later date I can just hit ‘spag bol’ instead of inputting the individual foods.

Hi @Annieweller, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to create and save meals on the app. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request.  A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.

I used to us ethe my fitness pal app too but I really don't want to have to pay for two separate apps when I can use one. Please build the same platform for recipe building on fitbit. It was so convenient on the myfitnesspal.

Thank you for the cronometer.com suggestion. I'll check it out. But I really don't understand why Fitbit hasn't added this feature yet. This would make Fitbit complete as far as I'm concerned.  Since I don't eat out very often, and I don't eat much processed foods logging is a huge chore. Having a recipe tracker function is almost mandatory to logging accuracy. People have been requesting this feature since 2013. That's long enough to wait!

Hello, I have just made and weighed out 4 identical salads for my weekday lunches. I can’t seem to find a way to log the meal and, as such, not have to record each ingredient daily. I have found this thread and note that a lot of the replies to similar questions seem to say you are aware of this problem and hope someone gets around to doing something about it soon.

Does anyone have any idea when that ‘soon’ may be? This thread has been asking this question for several years!

Why can't fitbit figure out how to allow users to input their own recipes? MFP has this feature and it is annoying maintaining 2 apps for the same thing. There should also be a way to track measurements. Finally, it would be really nice if fitbit had a feature to allow users to input how many servings of each food group they ate each day. Thanks.

You can also vote for these other suggestions: Daily Servings of Fruits/VegetablesChanging serving size for custom meals and Use "serving" as a unit for all foods.

I hope we receive updates soon.

For some reason, you can no longer choose the type of serving you want to log on your food count on the app. Before you could choose between options such as grams, slice, serving etc and it would calculate the calories. How am I supposed to know what I'm logging now?

The ability to select serving measurements (e.g., change grams to oz) on android app food log has disappeared. Please bring it back. The loss of this feature makes logging food more difficult and time consuming.

Dear FitBit-team,
It'd be cool if you could add your own recipes. So, you simply add the food you used and which way it was made (e.g. fried). Then your computer will calculate the calories and nutrition.

Yes, please add this!  I want a one-stop shop app.  With Fitbit not having an option for me to log my own recipes, like My Fitness Plan does, I need to use 2 apps or use the Fitbit app and log what I think is the closest option to what I made.

An existing feature on the Log>Favorites>Meals section of the website should be made possible to perform from within the phone app. Meals as modular capsules that contain ingredient entries from the food database that can be duplicated and modified at will to make the food logging experience more efficient. Make meals searchable like custom foods.

@j4yn1ck5, thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to see the meals section in the Fitbit app with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post hereThis will help us to keep the forums organized and make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Please please add this.  I home cook from scratch all the time and historically have not used fitbit's food log because this feature is missing...or at least partially incomplete.

This feature is already almost complete in fitbit under "Create a Meal" in favorite foods.  BUT once you enter a recipe there is no option to say the number of portions yielded from the recipe.  So entering the recipe is a futile exercise unless I want to log 2000 calories for a meal!  Please please make this change!

It would make a great lifestyle feature and food tracker  I too want a one stop app rather than moving around many apps to figure this out

Thank you!

This has been sitting in limbo since 2016. I feel this would be great feature to add in order to keep customers on Fitbit. Currently I have to use myfitness pal along with Fitbit in order to track this properly and it is a serious man

As you say, it’s sitting in limbo.
Actually more accurately it’s sitting in the trash can.
Fitbit are not ever going to do anything about this. I gave up years ago and went to My Fitness Pal. It’s free and is excellent. Only replying to this as I get messages when somebody comments.
