Able to create a custom meal and indicate number of servings

I would really like to be able to build a recipie and then indicate how many servings it makes and how much I ate and see nutritional break down by servings too.  I think it would way easier than trying to enter all ingredients then when its time to eat the leftovers I can just add the recipie serving.

I'm an extremely loyal person, but I posted this seemingly simple fix YEARS
ago - it's definitely in the rubbish bin! Fitbit could care less, so I
feel the same way-- bye bye Fitbit!! You have many other competitors with
quality products.

I did. They deleted some of my answers because I told their customers about
the cronometer app 🤦🏽‍:female_sign: (which can be synched with fitbit) Supposedly
was promoting "my" business. I have nothing to do with any company! I'm
retired! I still use fitbit for everything but the food, but I think their
customer service sucks.

I agree 100%. A recipe list would be excellent. Rest of my family uses MyFitnessPal for this reason.

Also can the frequent and recent food lists be a little longer? My recent list only stores about 1 days of food for me.

So . . .  users have been asking FitBit for this recipe functionality for years on end, and there is nothing but crickets.  The fitbit food logging app sucks and you don't listen to what users want and need to get the most out of your product.  When my fit bit dies, I'm not buying another one.  The app is just too much work and the customer service from the company is lousy.

How many more votes are needed to get this worked on @Fitbit ?  Seems like this is being asked for, for years and is the reason most have stopped logging food in the app.

Good question!!

Not being able to add my own recipes is what made me leave Noom. Now I've added recipes in here, and realized that it calculates the entire recipe. I'm not going to be eating 18 homemade muffins in one sitting, but I'm also not going to be trying to calculate 1/18 of 1.5 tsp is, either. When you're adding the ingredients to the "meal" list, there just needs to be a place where you can put in how many servings it is. It can't be that hard to add. I really love Fitbit; please make food tracking this much easier.

Completely agree!
Seems like a simple thing to fix!

Has there been more consideration to this? I just joined Fitbit a few weeks ago, and realized that I can't create my recipes, and then log 1 serving of it vs. the entire meal. I mean I'm not going to eat an entire casserole in one sitting... at least I hope not.  Trying to do the math to figure out how much of each ingredient I ate that is in the casserole (in one sitting) is a little ridiculous, and most other food tracking apps have this function.  Can this please be revisited as an added feature?

Fitbit has been non-responsive on this topic for years.

Read the entire post and you will find lots of work-arounds.

Good luck and good fitness to you.

I want to be able to select a list of ingredients and then save them together to create a "compound food". Eg. I want to create an "egg sandwich" by combining 2 pieces of bread, 2 eggs, and a slice of cheese. Then I want to log that as a meal. Contrast to needing to enter every ingredient each time or manually build from nutrition facts

Hi @MahatmaManic, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to create meals on the Fitbit App. I've moved it into a similar request. I think that a lot of users would like to have this option on their Fitbit devices. You can learn more about how Fitbit decides what suggestions get released in our FAQs.

Hi @Matben19, thanks for sharing this suggestion about being able to add your own recipes in the Nutrition tile within the Fitbit app with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to keep the forums organized and make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.

Hi,

What I was suggesting is to add the written recipes from eatingwell in the
Nutrition tab.

Please find attached a screenshot of what I'm referring to.

Thanks

Favorite meals: The ability to take a meal that you have often and save all the items you log for it be saved in a group. Currently you have to look through your recent or favored foods and log them individually.

Hi @JTHUNDERIFICthanks for sharing your suggestion about the possibility of creating favorite meals on the Fitbit app. I noticed this feature suggestion already exists so I’ve moved your post hereThis helps to keep the forums more organized and prevent the vote from splitting into multiple ideas.

Regarding the options to have favorite foods section and to be able to set macro goals, make sure to vote for these ideas that have already been posted in the forums as well:

So basically after reading majority of these comments from 2014 to 2021....yes, 7 years! There's been little improvement in regards this. Majority of calorie counting/weightloss apps, the likes of noon, nutricheck, fatsecret, weight watchers, slimming world ALL have this function where you can log a meal and quick add the meal the following day or save the meal and give it, its own name. It seems Fitbit are way behind the times. This is a function that I've been using with the likes of weight watchers for many years. Crazy how they have not implemented this function 7 years on. Are they listening to Fitbit users? 😏

If I create a meal - I should be able to say how many servings that meal serves and then how many servings I want to add to my food profile. If tracking food doing batch cooking I should be able to amend so that a meal doesn't add 2k calories when it was made for 4 people and I had one portion. Most recipes are not designed for only 1 person so why does fitbit make it's custom meal plan section for 1  ?

I am going to have to stop using fitbit to track meals as this isn't workable.

Once you have created a meal, you should be able to log a portion of the meal (1 serving or x number of grams).

Having the ability to create and save our recipes would make tracking much faster and easier.  The food tracker is a great feature, and just needs a tweak to be even more useful!
