Able to create a custom meal and indicate number of servings

I would really like to be able to build a recipie and then indicate how many servings it makes and how much I ate and see nutritional break down by servings too.  I think it would way easier than trying to enter all ingredients then when its time to eat the leftovers I can just add the recipie serving.

The fact that this thread has been open since 2016 and there has been no movement on it tells me that it's not a priority.

I don't really get the impression that fixing basic bugs is even much of a priority.

Please add the ability to create a custom meal through the phone app. You would create the meal, set the number of servings, then be able to scan each item (or search) with the amounts. I meal prep weekly for lunches.

I make my own bread, lots of other foods that aren't listed in your data base.

This app needs to be able to create custom recipes and be able to portion them out. Not user friendly at it's current state.

Since this is from 2014 and the option doesn't exist yet, I doubt it will get created.

My Recipes.
So, if I am making a large meal for multiple people, I can add all of the ingredients, and how many servings it yields. Eg: I make a casserole that serves 6. I enter all of the ingredients for a total cal/macros value, and number of servings it yields. Then, if I eat 1 serving, it will calculate my cals/macros from the total recipe.

I know it has been years since this was requested and to be honest I'm quite surprised that there was still no improvement regarding this topic. As many people already requested, it would be very useful if we could enter a recipe and set the number of servings. Also, it would be a nice amelioration if we could add a meal by entering the URL of the recipe directly to Fitbit.

It would be great to hear an update on this feature inclusion: This app currently does not support people trying to cook home meals by meal prepping to optimize their daily intake. Just adding the ability to define the number of servings a recipe will produce would help immensely and allow me to track everything fitness-wise on a single app (which is the whole point to using FitBit?).

Thank you Sabine. I watched so many people post on this and yet no changes. As a result, I went to another tracking app and took the money I would have spent on a third replacement Fitbit due to charging issues and went to an Apple Watch.  I was a longtime customer of fitbit like so many others but when you stop listening to your customers, it’s time to leave. Longtime fitbit customer lost.

Thanks Sabine,
I too will be ditching my Fitbit for a more comprehensive smart watch once it bites the dust, the only thing i find it does successfully is monitor my heart beats, i check this on other equipment when I’m at the gym, I’m giving up on what’s on the scales, i fit my clothes and I’m healthy, that’s what I’m focusing on! I’ve already eaten a whole food diet, whenever possible, which is why the Fitbit app irritates me so much, it’s as if they are expecting you to buy your meals pre prepared, and only feed yourself. As you have said there seems to be b*ugger all point in these threads as Fitbit have done sweet FA about addressing the issue. Ah well, i won’t be recommending them to anyone i know. Nic

Please add a recipe function in food tracking - one enters ingredients/servings and it specifies nutrition information for 1 serving. The Create Meal is too cumbersome to add each food (dividing the recipe by what you eat) and it would be awesome to cut/paste recipes like MyFitnessPal.

I recommend incorporating the ability to log saved meals on mobile app.

When creating a recipe, there is no option to list how many servings are in a recipe. When I go to log the food for the day, there is also no ability to adjust serving size. Would appreciate if you could select a serving/portion size on added recipes, just like you can with individual items!

Hi @CurryMP. Thank you for sharing your Product Feedback with the Fitbit Community. Currently you can log food on the Fitbit app by selecting one of the options from the food database, or from the custom meals created on your fitbit.com dashboard. To learn more about the food logging feature, see this help article.

If you're referring to something different, please reply with more detail or specifics on how this idea would work, or what problem this is trying to solve. This will help us to understand this idea better. We look forward to your response.

Thank you for responding. I've saved meals through fitbit.com web app containing multiple items (i.e. banana, yogurt, etc.) as "breakfast". While I can access and log this meal from the web app, this option does not appear available through the mobile app.

The food tracking feature is useless if I can't cook a meal at home and track it. Definitely a design flaw and costing Fitbit $$$ in lost customers.

I would love to be able to add in all my ingredients into a recipe and have it count the nutrients and calories automatically, based on each ingredient, and then let me add number of servings so I can add a serving to my foods list each day. It’s really frustrating that this is a feature on other platforms but not on this one.
