Able to create a custom meal and indicate number of servings

I would really like to be able to build a recipie and then indicate how many servings it makes and how much I ate and see nutritional break down by servings too.  I think it would way easier than trying to enter all ingredients then when its time to eat the leftovers I can just add the recipie serving.

Agree!!! Please add # of servings and also just the meal needs to show up in the log not all the individual components.

Hi @Nrowden, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the possibility of creating a recipe on the Fitbit app. I noticed that a similar feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your post here, this helps to keeps the boards more organized. Make sure to add your vote as well to support this suggestion, this helps the team of developers to keep track of popularity and demand over time.

Ok, thanks for there response and information. I noticed there are some requests for this feature dated way back in 2014. Other fitness apps have long since added easier ways to track meals and recipes. I wonder if Fitbit will ever get around to it?
Thanks,Natasha Rowden

I would really like it if your app developers could take a look at dietary apps like myfitnesspal, Noom, Mealime and integrate some of the facilities that they have i.e. importing recipes, being able to portion meals, and doing this from the app instead of the desktop. I do not eat processed food or restaurant food regularly and it's a ball ache having to open my laptop to add each of the meals that I cook as well as trying to work out how to add the correct portion of food. Ideally I would like to have everything in one app rather that having 2-3 apps

Hear hear!! We've been trying to get them to do this for eons now. Really, I was still working back then; I've been retired now for 9 years!!! I feel like we're texting to the wall. Hello? Anybody out there that works in development at Fitbit??? Woohoo!  We're over here!! (Granny jumping up and down getting steps in) 🙂

I gave up. I'm using cronometer. Haven't touched processed food since I retired. And I'm only using Fitbit for the steps and sleep logging.

It would be great if favorites and recipes creation were an option for food logging. It be helpful if we could type in the barcode manually if it wont scan to log info.

With MyFitnessPal making their bar code scanner a subscription service this more important than ever. Ali I would like to export my recipes from MyFitnessPal to Fitbit.

Given that there has been ZERO movement on this front and the fact that the screen on my fitbit has completely died, I'll be moving away from fitbit.

Does anyone know if apple offer this feature on their smart watches, I think I will be following you when my watch dies. 🙄

I use to be able to enter my recipes into my fitbit app. Now that option is not available and I have been told I have to integrate another program into fitbit to do this. I think Fitbit should make it easier for users to use their own recipes.

When a multi ingredient meal is created, have a box to input the number of servings, so when selecting the meal, 1 portion can be selected so the entire meal doesn't get logged

When logging any Food Entry you have the opportunity to edit the portion size. Give the app the ability to do simple arithmetic by inputting a simple expression. E. g., a standard medium baked potato weighs 173 grams. My potato weighs 237 grams. Let me replace the portion size (1.0) with the expression 237/173 Enter. The app calculates 1.3699.

Agree the “create a meal” tan feature currently allow us to enter a recipe with the ingredients you used to cook a meal. However, what it does allows to do is to enter how much of that meal you actually ate when logging it. Therefore, every time you ate a different amount of the same cooked meal you need to add the meal and update the values off all the ingredients of that meal by dividing it by the amount ate. If the recipe make 2 servings and you ate 1 then each ingredient is .5 of the recipe.

When logging food the mobile app should allow entering a meal that has been alredy defined.

Currently, if I want to Create a Custom Meal, I have to go to the Fitbit Website, log in etc. to Create a Custom Meal which will then Sync and download to the app. I'm not paying your Premium Fees to have to go to 2 places. This should be added to the app LIKE IT WAS BEFORE YOU STRTED CHRGING FEES for this "better" app!

Similar to the “add meal” function, you should be able to enter all the ingredients and then divide it by the number of servings.

Looking for a recipe builder in Fitbit so I can indicate my own portion of a total recipe.

Can't seem to find it. Essential for at-home cooks. Thanks!

I came to suggest the same thing as jecie123. I know that on the desktop dashboard we can enter custom recipes, but to my knowledge after that you can only log the ENTIRE recipe.  but we should be able to log a FRACTION of that whole recipe as a portion we ate. Maybe I make the recipe the same everytime but one day I eat 1/5 of the batch and the next time I eat 1/4 of the batch. So as it is, it's not incredibly helpful for my purposes

I wish this was a feature. Or if you scan barcodes for 3 things to build a meal- like my lunch meat, sandwich thins, and some mayo or dijon mustard when I add a food to their catalogs.

I just came on to add this suggestion. I have to use the MyFitnessPal app to do these things, and it would be nice not to have to use two separate nutrition-tracking apps. I would also like to be able to copy meals from one day to another (copy, not move).

The food logger in Fitbit is becoming MFP replacement for me.  it pretty much has feature parity, EXCEPT for this. Fitbit... Please!
