Able to create a custom meal and indicate number of servings

I would really like to be able to build a recipie and then indicate how many servings it makes and how much I ate and see nutritional break down by servings too.  I think it would way easier than trying to enter all ingredients then when its time to eat the leftovers I can just add the recipie serving.

I'm amazed with all the new great features on the Fitbit app, there still isn't an option to create a recipe with number of servings to allow for custom food tracking directly on the Fitbit!

I was going on an "app diet" but now realize I have to go back and reinstall MyFitnessPal to track calories and import the calorie totals into Fitbit.  Certainly seems Fitbit would want to make it a priority to direct their customers away from other apps that bombard us with their fitness tracker devices....

I use Noom and Fitbit simultaneously (and I desperately wish I could quit using the Noom app just for logging food) or that they would sync together so I also don't have to log my fitbit activity in the noom app... Noom food logging is SO easy, but they don't have macronutrients like Fitbit does. I don't eat out much and do a lot of cooking so it would be amazing if I could enter my ingredients used in Fitbit and "create a dish" then enter the number of servings (total) and log the number of servings of this dish that I ate for a meal (for example when I make a soup and I make a giant pot of it to eat for the week I am unable to log this in fitbit without logging each individual ingredient). Fitbit food logging is totally useless for me unless I eat 2 eggs and a piece of toast or something similar and can log each thing individually.

Stepping Up

We've now been asking for this feature for over 6 years and 7 months. If the request was a child it would be in the third year of primary school in England.

The idea has been "under consideration" for 4 and a half of those years.

You have all these fancy shmancy wellness features on premium membership and yet I still can't make bolognese tonight and have the leftovers tomorrow without itemising that I used ⅛of a tablespoon of tomato purée.

It's SUCH basic functionality for a diet logging feature I cannot understand why it's not being enabled*. Now there are so many other devices that will do what a Fitbit does and let me log my batch cooked recipes that I honestly think that after 5 years as a Fitbit customer that this is my last device.

*I'm certain there are issues around how much memory storage you might require or something around re-accessing stored recipes but frankly that's a bit shallow when you've got 5 years of my sleep data.

Hi There,

Two suggestions from me:

1) add a 'number of portions' in the recipe/meal builder, that divides the calories etc from the nutrition info by the number of portions that the recipe made.

2) add ability to share meals with fitbit friends

Hi @gasmanpopey, we wanted to let you know that the ideas you recently posted already exist on the Feature Suggestions Board. You can see them here where you can add your vote to those existing suggestions: Meal Share with Friends/Family through app (rather than all inputting the same ingredients)

Please try to make sure you only post one idea per suggestion, so we can keep the board organized, easily searchable and see which idea other members are voting for. Thanks for participating in Feature Suggestions.

It's been over 6 years and this is till "under consideration" with over 870 votes. Are you kidding me? No wonder we've been using other sites/apps in order to properly log our food & create recipes.

This is a complete joke!

Make it easier to add custom foods and meals on fitbit.com and then log them on fitbit.com or the app
Add the ability to create custom meals on the app
Make it easy to find out how to do it if these features already exist

Instead of adding a meal to a mealtime adding the entire summary of the meal to a single session you should be able to add servings of a meal. Eg if I cook up 600g of taco filling, I should be able to then take 50g of filling for a meal. Which in the system would come through at 1/12 of total value beef, onions ect ect.

right now when you look at the calories consumed i'm pretty sure for everyone if not the majority it is just a list of ingredients. I suggest an option to group foods together to make "meals". For example instead of having the following listed ( beef patty, cheese, ketchup etc) you should be able to group them & give it a custom name

General overhaul of the food tracker would be nice. I'd rather you not even offer a food tracker if it's going to be that archaic. One example would be having an easier way to modify, create and save your own recipes would greatly improve the experience.

I figured it out but it's not very intuitive. You have to create "meals" as your recipe.

YojanaFitbit - I don't think you read this post carefully. The other recommended feature you said was the same is not the same at all. This is a practical feature that probably is loosing you customers using the nutrition part of fitbit because it's so ridiculous! You currently can't split a meal into individual servings.

When I cook, like most people not eating pre-packaged food, I cook more than one serving at once either to save for other meals or for family members (not all of whom use fitbit).

The fact that I can't currently separate out a dish into individual servings is ridiculous and not that hard of a fix from a programming point of view. That suck a simple practical feature that is part of every other nutrition tracking app I've looked at was overlooked by fitbit is seriously concerning.

Is Fitbit as a company assuming that nobody cooks their own food anymore?

Adding a strong vote for a "servings per meal/recipe" option. I often meal prep and since I'm single, most recipes make enough for several meals. It is cumbersome to not have a recipe option that I can say I had 1 gram of 300 grams in the recipe, 1/4th of the recipe, or the recipe makes 6 servings. ANY of those options would be better. Right now I have to make the meal, then portion it out to figure out how much I make and log it by that. If I want more/less one day, it is impossible to do that.

Once we input a meal from the ingredients included for "lunch" or "dinner", add option to name that meal to enter in the future rather than re-input the main ingredients

Adding my own 2 cents to this request. I know it's possible to create a custom meal, but if I create a custom meal from a recipe, I get a custom meal that serves 4 people or whaterver. There's no way to enter how many servings are included in the custom meal and then enter the number of servings when you log it. BTW this functionality is available when adding an individual custom food, why not in a custom meal.

I also know it's possible to create a recipe in MyFitnessPal, log it there, and then sync it to Fitbit. But it's cumbersome to have to use two apps to log a serving of a recipe in Fitbit.

I am having a hard time understanding how to create meals in Versa 3. If it is already possible to do this, it is *far* too difficult to figure out how!!!
