Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

The new update seems to have removed the ability to see maps recorded with GPS assisted activities (like walk or run), including historic ones that were visible up until the update dropped.please restore this essential feature asap.

I absolutely agree. This is now so awful I’m buying a Garmin. I too have had to jump through hoops just to post this message. What were you thinking Fitbit? Big mistake!

I dislike the new app so much that I have cancelled my premium subscription.

  • change it back - sack the designers - it’s awful!!!
  • what were you all thinking to approve this!?

Correction: map history is still there, just not at list level anymore. Urgency correspondingly reduced

I agree the way the screen looks now isn’t helpful.  Too bland and boring.

The battery thing is 3 screen in. See the thing in upper left corner? Click that and then at top of next screen where it has type of watch and a battery symbol? Then click again to 3rd screen and you’ll see it and it says in words full, empty or whatever it might be but no symbol telling you the percentage.  The most ridiculous thing I’ve ever seen besides the rest of the disgusting design. Child like and not designed for convenience or use.

V4.0 is poorly laid out & has removed functionality of the app. Bring back the ability to see battery % of Fitbit device. I have to scroll too much to see all my data. Today section is too stretched out. Return the original quantity of data in Today section. Let rearrange subcategories, not just parent categories. Bring back fireworks/confetti.

Further to my original post. I have lost two important sections that I use daily. It has stopped monitoring  So2. I cannot edit exercise, the box highlights  but no keyboard loads to type in the new exercise.  I do not want to click 3 screens to hunt for the battery status. Where is the ECG data? So after living with the new app for 24hrs I decided if I have to learn to use a new app then I may aswell learn on a completely new tracker. This morning I ordered a new Garmin. I highly do not recommend FitBit to anyone.

It used to be intuitive but now it's just a mess.

You've linked some stats together so they have to be displayed on the same tile whereas before we could move things about independently to see stats in the order we needed. That needs to come back.

You've removed colour and contrast from the stats which is a BIG no-no when it comes to accessibility. That needs to come back.

You've condensed step etc info from 15 minute chunks of time to hourly. Less data. That needs to come back.

Your products aren't cheap, your app shouldn't feel worse every single update. I'm sure you wanted it to look pretty but what you've done is remove accessibility and the chance for users to customise their feed how they need.

Everything has been said about the layout but what did you think when you change the data to averages for what was in the past ? Who is your data scientist that recommanded this ?

Everything that concerns the data has to go back to what it was before. The new graphixs are horrible snall colors are boring and they look like they are coming out a scientific research ...

The short term solution rollback your version 4 . Then work with REAL CUSTOMERS . instead of changing everything use the agile intiration approach with SNALL increments of  changes and listen to YOUR CUSTOMERS.  i cant believe in 2023 a cie going with such a key change using the big bang approach ! You clearly didnt think of your customers because the last changes you did there was already disastifsction . Alignment with google technology cant be dine if you are destroying a brand you certainly didnt know who your customers were

STEP 1 rollback version 4.01 or 4 if you dont want to loose lots of us even though it may be too late as clearly google taking over has been the begining of real bad decisions

I hope that the redesign of the app is supposed to be a joke. It has completely downgraded. I want the fun colours back; they used to represent motivation and happiness.. now it sorta feels like a graveyard. Also the new placement of information is just not it. The ‘home page’ is overcrowded. LISTEN YOUR CUSTOMERS FITBIT!

I agree 100%.  I am very frustrated.

I agree with the analysis. Lots of wasted space in this update and I prefer the concise display of the previous version.

My issues are:

-loss of GPS map of exercise (walking, hiking, cycling) As GPS drops off sometimes, I'd like to see of distance recorded is the actual distance I travelled.

-I can't tell when it synced last

-No weekly step summary, I don't care what my daily average is for the week, I want to see how I'm progressing in weekly totals

-Weekly zone counts are gone, again, just daily averages are displayed. I follow my weekly totals!

-I prefer the old step hourly graphics. If I nap and it doesn't record the sleep, I used to be able to tell exactly what time my steps stopped and started again.

Please give us the option to revert back to the old version. I can't find a single thing I like about this new one.

Very very disappointed on the new interface. I guess that the idea was to have a "younger" look, a a minimalist fashion, but sorry, no success at all. Cannot customize to my preferences, I had to choose the predefined ones. I do not know what is happening at Fitbit, but things are not going at all in the right direction. No any innovative products for quite some time, Charge 5 which I own is in fact "lower grade" than Charge 4 and more and more we are forced in the Google system, which not everybody wants.

Please listen to your customers and go back to the classic design. Fire the team that came up with this. Everything is so large and spaced out. I just want a quick snapshot of my health.

I agree with everyone else. It's awful.

I've not had my Fitbit long at all, but this (and a couple of other issues like the truly AWFUL customer service) is making me consider getting rid of it and switching to something else.

But honestly, Fitbit don't care about what we think (otherwise they'd have provided a way to easily pause step count while driving which users have been requesting for YEARS). They are awful, just like the lastest app update.

It's horrible. But Fitbit don't care. Worst company out there. I'll be moving ASAP.

It would be advantageous to carry out a user acceptance on any new software including a selection of stakeholders including your customers, it could avoid the unnecessary expense of recoding and obvious time taken reading and actioning the quantity of complaints etc

Bring back the remaining daily energy intake estimation (green apple).

This update is worse than what was there before across the board, please bring the old app back.

Keeping Pace

This new update is absolutely horrendous!
Ugly, no proper overview.
I wear your product due to a heart condition, it was vital to be able to see my heart rate at a glance when opening the app.
Please reinstate the previous app, otherwise I’ll have to switch to another device.
Listen to your customers here, as no one seems to be very impressed with your latest update!

I keep seeing all over social media “leave us feedback to improve” well fitbit it’s pretty clear across the board how bad this update is. It’s way less user friendly than the previous one, it’s a jumbled mess, extra screens that used to be a simple click away.

How much feedback do you need to listen and revert?

I hate the new interface. The colors are pale. The icons are gone. We use the map as we hike. The button to activate the mapping feature is just a little unlabeled arrow. I REALLY HATE the new interface. The sleep score does not show on the main page. It is hard to find things. The main page is diffused out over a large area. We must scroll

Just canceled my premium subscription. The moderators have confirmed they will not revert back to old app. I’m done with Fitbit. There are plenty of other health/fitness trackers to choose from!

Hate the new app. A huge backward step. Please revert back to the old design. Doesn't even show battery percentage. ☹️☹️☹️
