Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

UPDATE: I was finally able to change the unit setting on the today page to Kilojoules again. I had to change it to calories, then change back to kilojoule from app settings, and that fixed it.

However, losing the daily energy estimate left (green apple), among all the other changes is still a massive loss for the Fitbit community.

I know data is collected how we like/ dislike the new layout. Please sent to the design department we do not like the new layout. Please give us a choice to go back to the previous layout.

I dislike the new layout: it is ugly, to icons to big, to many scrolling screens, layout looks like a company that just is starting out, and frustrating to find the data I need. The previous way was easy to view and less screens to find the info I needed. I like to click the icon if I needed more information.

And on here to find out the same, it’s horrible!!

100% agree. I came here to see if others felt the same way I did when I opened my app this morning and saw the repulsive new display from this update! It actually makes me want to close the app immediately. switch back to the previous update? It is so cumbersome, lengthier to navigate and VERY unappealing to look at. I so hope they change it back to the old display because I use this app every day and loved it before this. I’ve used Fitbit for years with no complaints but if this update / display change stands, I’m with others who have commented, I’ll be looking for an alternative that’s more intuitive and appealing to use.

Agreed. I absolutely HATE the new design. It is harder to read, and without the colors it's difficult to differentiate the categories. Looks like it was designed by a toddler. It's so horrible that I'm considering switching to Google watch or Apple watch and ditching my Fitbit if they don't change it back.

I HATE the new design. I called customer service to find out if I could revert to the old one and they said no. It's so awful that I am considering ditching my Fitbit for a Google watch or Apple watch. I've never seen such a horrible interface on any app. Can't believe that even ONE person at Fitbit thought this was a good idea. It looks like it was designed by a toddler. BRING BACK THE OLD DESIGN OR YOU WILL LOSE MANY CUSTOMERS!

I bought my first Fitbit in 2012.  I have just accomplished over 500 consecutive days of hitting my 10,000 daily step goal.  I guess my streak ended with the new app.  I’ve been considering changing brands and that decided it for me.

New App is the worst!!! Doesn't allow all the flexibility of dashboard layout! A giant company like Google can't manage to give same level of user interface as an app they bought out is a problem. Why? Nothing needed to change. If you added ability to track macros this would have been the complete package. Instead you go and f it all up. You're fired!!!

I totally agree.  It’s awful.

Totally agree! This update is awful... I'm switching to apple watch if they don't bring back features from old version.

Fitbit, please return to old version or just bring back old features! I'm no longer able to see my total calories burned estimation for the day. This widget was pretty much my only reason why I was using fitbit... I'm switching brands if things stay this way. Awful, awful update.

I HATE the new design. Bring back the old design or I'm switching to Apple watch. And it looks like a LOT of other Fitbit users are saying that they are going to do the same. Why would we pay to use this new version of the app that looks like it was designed by a toddler, is more difficult to differentiate categories because now everything is the same (ugly & very poorly chosen) color, and is less useful rather than more useful... updates are supposed to improve upon a product, not make it 10 times worse.

Agreed. This new interface is a step backward. It's hard to read, hard on the eyes, and we have less information. In addition, I keep getting a message that mobile tracker is not counting steps multiple times a day. I also relied on the app for the battery charge on my luxe as it is too hard to see on the luxe. Please allow us to revert back to old interface.

I thought the new update was somehow a mistake… That my phone had done something strange to revert back to a archaic or beta tested system… It’s hard to understand, it takes too much effort to be able to scan and see my details, I can’t figure out how to personalize the top, it took my floors away as I’m a hiker and that’s something I enjoyed tracking at the top and it’s just plain ugly. I’ve been using this since August 2020 and I’m extraordinarily disappointed. I’ve been a premium user, using it for V02, sleep, food, water, just about everything. Please change it back!!

Nymdok outlined the issues with this new version. I rarely give feedback, but this new version is such a failure, I have to speak out.

The black and white is hard on my eyes. I much prefer color!  There is less data on the screen and I can't organize the items that I follow most closely in the order I prefer. We can't see how much the battery is charged. That's a big failure.

I have used Fitbit products for three years.  If this version remains I am going to look for another product. I hope that the people who are responsible for this is version is looking at this feedback that your users are giving you and take what we are saying seriously. Do not think, once they get used to the changes they will stop complaining.

I will now longer recommend Fitbit to anyone looking for a fitness product.  Please give us the option to go back to 3.9

The new version of the iOS app is TERRIBLE! Please revert to the prior version where we could start, pause, restart and end a walk using the phone and see the lively gos map afterwards. I hate auto recognize; it’s not useful. Will switch to a different fitness tracker if you don’t bring back older version!

I am in Total Agreement- Fitbit has failed with this change!!!

While I'm as irritated by the battery state imprecision (mine shows "Full" in the app where the device says 83%), I wonder if this was done because those percentages aren't very accurate. Doesn't justify the change--anyone with four working brain cells figured out that 99% wasn't precisely 99%, any more than it is with your phone--but it would at least be *some* rationale.

The new app is really bad, hard to navigate. There s no indication of battery percentage. It looks like its designed by a 5 year old. Horrible white background. This is a step backward.

The new monochrome app interface is not accessible. It’s a pain, just terrible. Not only drab, but makes it hard to distinguish metrics at a glance. I get motivated by checking my stats. I don’t even want to open the app now. I’ve been a fitbit user since the first clip-on step counter, but I’m seriously considering going with a new brand.

I am 68 years old.  I have been on the Internet since 1996.  I have never experienced a company more incompetent and insensitive to its customers.

I also DETEST the new update- I don’t even want to look at my stats- why would you make us have to scroll to read the most basic stats? Also difficult to read with the ‘ghost’ presentation. Support was no help- unable to change back! Warned my husband NOT to update 😖
