Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

I 100% agree that the "new" app interface is a complete disaster.

Gone is show app showing the battery level of the Charge 5.  Instead I have to use my magnifier app on the wife's phone to view the battery level on the Charge 5 itself.  Could it be any smaller ?????

Gone is viewing the sleep score using a simple interface.  Now you can see the same data using 3 or 4 pages with the app telling you how to interpret the data EVERY SINGLE DAY. As simple "How to Interpret the Data"  selection could have done the same thing without cluttering the screen.

I use the Fitbit primarily for sleep score. Used to be a 30 second task.  But now with the "new" interface I can spend minutes looking at completely useless information that I am never going to use.  Ley me choose WHAT I WANT TO SEE, not what you think I should see.

I could downgrade the app, but that still implies that I'm using and supporting Fitbit. After the way they've responded to this massive negative outcry (telling users to get stuffed and "get used to" the new app) I will not be doing that any longer.

My Garmin Venu is on the way and will arrive tomorrow. So I guess Fitbit is now the one to get stuffed. I will also be making sure that anybody who asks me for a recommendation it the future is pointed squarely in the opposite direction of Fitbit. GG. Irredeemable.

I would put the new app interface in the same category as the Bud Light disaster. There is absolutely nothing I can say positive about the changes.

Agreed.  I just downloaded the previous version and was happy to see the old format but it does leave a bad impression in the way google has handled this.  I ordered the Garmin Venu 2 plus before I found out that you could revert to the older version.  I'll decide what to do in the coming days.  Right now I feel like ridding myself of everything google.

How do you download the previous version?

The new UI is shockingly bad. Think of all the developer hours wasted...

At least make it switchable with the old UI. That's how smart companies introduce changes. It allows people to use the old UI while the new UI is gradually adjusted into something that users actually prefer. Has nobody at FitBit heard about A/B testing? How about blue/green testing and rolling back changes that don't work?

To revert back to old version:

Go to: fitbit.en.up to down.com (eliminate spaces in address - fitbit won't let me post the actual address)

Download file version 3.88

Uninstall your current fitbit 4.0 version

Reinstall version 3.88

Here is a link to the video:

I followed the instructions in this is the video that was referred to:

Agreed, who came up with that design?? It’s really bad and has made me start to look at other trackers and I never thought I’d do that!! Revert back to the original PLEASE before Fitbit is confined to the bin.

@Queen5452 You could get a real phone instead /s

(not a fan of Apple's idea of a UI, though I understand that many folks love it)

In so many ways!  Sent from an avid Android user.  Unfortunately, the download instructions are for androids only.  Not sure why you could not find the 3.88 Version to download on the Iphone.

Good morning, Queen.

Apparently, you had a Step Streak going.

I opened a case, back on the 11-Sep and someone finally responded stating
that the “Step Streak” notification is no longer available on this version.
Oh, I had to follow up on the case and that was the response, because
Google/Fitbit did not initiate the contact.

I went to Twitter and the fitbit support page where I found many comments. Below is the tweet

Looking at a battery level and having to guess what the percentage is is not what I would like to do and until this update did not have to. Maybe next time you change up everything you can put the percentage back in.

Since the update I can no longer see the battery percentage I would like it back also my daily commute is now a mountain bike ride 🤷 and I can't find any way to change it. Lastly in the older version after exercise I could seek min/max and average heart rate I can now only see average. I would like these reinstalled.
