Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

Among my biggest losses of the formerly good Fitbit app includes:  weekly stats to see if meeting a weekly goal; ability to create own workout name (if it's there it's impossible to find), battery level, map when walking, and I'm sure there are more.  And I haven't  used the app for over a week.  Am exploring the app Fitlist.  At least I can create my own workouts on there, although they already have a lot.

My biggest beef is the elimination of the Step Streak, which would now
stand at “591 days” of meeting my dail step goal set at 12,500.

Agreed. I liked how my dashboard was set up and the update doesn’t even allow me to duplicate what I had before. Very annoying. Plus the new look is boring.

I hate the new app it is ugly to look at and not user friendly at all. Settings are difficult to change.

Amazing just got a disgusting email Ad from Google offering discounts on
Pixel watches... replied to tell them I won't be buying any more Google
products unless the fix the fitbit app

Yes, Google is rolling the dice hoping that by degrading the Fitbit App,
customers will automatically move over to higher priced Google products.
Google purchased Fitbit to rape Fitbit of the technology and begin
integrating with it’s own product line. In the ad for the launch of the
Google Pixel Smartwatch it even touts that Fitbit Technology is in the
watch.

Not gonna happen for me. Google has much more costly products and frankly I don’t trust them after they did this! Liking what I see elsewhere in products that are not apple or google.

Me too! Google has lost so much goodwill with this, now I just want out of the ecosystem entirely. Piece by piece I'm gonna make it happen.

You are within your rights to look elsewhere. That is the beauty of our
Free Market Economy, we the consumers have the right to choose how to spend
our money on the products we choose.

Google will have a quick review of Keynesian Economics, where demand drives
supply.

I never went to Harvard business school but if fitbit had a 120 million
users and Google pixel had millions of users why not keep both products
going independently?

I imagine there is something in the small print that says they can take away functionality or do what they want with no redress,

When prompted I moved my Charge 5 from fitbit to Google,

does this mean I can't load the old app ?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to my new watch which is on order and has no Google integration.

Yep, I'd be happy to have the old one back! 🙂

Agree with pretty much everyone. The latest app update is awful. Less data - my cardio workouts now do not show my peak heart rate, or my average cal/min, which are metrics I had been tracking. All. Gone. 😞 Please revert to previous version.

A new clock face doesn't help with battery percentage if you are charging
it!!

It's the end of an era.   I'm on my third Fitbit in almost a decade.  A few weeks ago I was shopping to upgrade my Fitbit and eagerly awaiting the release of the new Pixel phone.  Today I cancelled Fitbit Premium (after too many years to count), am shopping for a non-Google cell phone and ordered my next fitness tracker.   I've done a ton of research and the toilet paper rhyming brand looks perfect for me.  My new tracker will be here by the weekend.  It's HUGE for me to make such drastic changes as I am very brand loyal when I like a product.  However, I tried the new app, but just couldn't accept digging for data that was previously easily accessible.  The inability to differentiate the different colors was the deal breaker.  I rolled back my Fitbit app, but it's no longer about that:  I refuse to support this company any longer.  I expect to be very happy in my new fitness tracker home.  🙂

I agree with OP and Nymdoc. The new layout is AWFUL, unintuitive, ugly, and depressing to look at. Isn't there a way to make this optional?

As a long term user, Fitbit is making changes that alienate users from the product. It was bad enough when cooperative races were removed. Now we have an interface that makes the product unfortunately and feels disconnected

Since we have a Free Market Economy, I am sure Google will understand that
you have the freedom to choose a different product. Google would love for
you to choose their higher-priced product at $349.99, which they have
integrated Fitbit’s technology in the hope that you would change loyalties.

This is the risky gamble that Google is making to gain market share &
expect a great R.O.I. on the purchase of Fitbit for $2.1 billion.

@Kafski HOW did you roll back your Fitbit app update?! 😱 😃 🙏

@BeechewDC  Apparently it works for Android only so if you're an Apple person, you're out of luck.

Delete the Fitbit app from your phone.  Go back to Google Play and re-download the app.  Go in and disable auto updates for the Fitbit app.    This worked for me a couple of weeks ago.   I wouldn't be shocked if Google now prevents doing this.  Good luck!

That was a mistake, that I unfortunately made **ahem** well. It's a one way ticket and there is no going back, ever.
You can load the old app, but it's harder to prevent the auto-updating. You have to no manual stop it. Every single day.
Google is so great! That they force you in and there's no going back. That's just how awesome Google is.
