Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

This is the all-time worst app update ever. The new design has rendered the app unusable. The new colours are difficult to read and cause eye strain. The progress bars (or circles) never look filled. Everything has been grouped so it cannot be organized the way I want it. I have no desire to use this product any more.

I don't know how to, I'm no IT expert, it was easier to cancel my premium subscription and save a few pennies

@StanReardon the old app no longer exists. Uninstalling and reinstalling just gives you the same stupid new app.

I called Fitbit last night and they said until Google changes something, there is nothing they can do.

That does not help! You get the horrible design anyhow!

Mine was thru my apple iPhone.  Go into subscriptions, click Fitbit & either cancel or request refund

To return to the previous version of the Fitbit app in Android - Uninstall the latest version.  Then, follow the instructions in this video.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icEyr2OGryI

In the end, you do not have to turn off automatic updates for ALL apps.  You can do it just for the Fitbit app.

1. Go to Play Store and click on your picture/avatar.  2. Manage apps & device  3. The Manage tab (not the Overview) 4. Select the Fitbit app  5. The 3 dots in the upper right you'll find the option to Disable auto updates for just this app.

As far as I know, nobody has found a way to do it in IOS.  Sorry...

I am not an Apple person.  So, I have no idea how to install these.  Hopefully, somebody else does.

I found older versions of Fitbit IPA files for IOS here.

The new app on iphone is a HUGE step backwards. It is ugly. It is visually confusing. It offers LESS historical data. I want to be able to revert to the previous version. As it stands now there is NO reason for me to sync data, so will use my charge 5 as a step counter only. Whoever designed the new graphics & whoever signed off on this "design" should be sent to remedial graphic design classes. Very disappointed.

Hi there, @Kaypo. Welcome to the Fitbit Community Forums. Welcome on board and thank you for stopping by! I appreciate your time in sharing your thoughts and feedback towards the new Fitbit app design.

Please note at the moment there's no way to revert the Fitbit app to the old design. I'd like to invite you to take a look at this post to get the most out of the new Fitbit app.

As @gdio53 has mentioned, I'd like you to check
this blog to get more information about new updates coming soon to the Fitbit app.

We hope to see your vote!

I’ve used a Fitbit for ten years. Because of afib I  have been paying for premium. I want you to know I am researching which device I will replace this Fitbit with. Loved my Sense until you screwed up the app so magnificently! This app is the very definition of FUBAR.

The map does not contain location information for walks/runs!
The graphics are childish and not informative.
The app is no lo ger user friendly.

I see I'm rather late to this conversation, as I never come to the site. Like the more than 2200 folks who voted, I DEEPLY dislike this latest app update. And it's disappointing there's no way to revert to the prior version.

Really hope all this feedback is being taken into account and Fitbit considers going back to the bones of the prior iteration.

Like some have said, I dislike the app so, so much now that I will seriously pursue a different brand for my next update. Oh, and the Charge 6 again has NO ALTIMETER, so I wouldn't have considered it anyway. I'll use my good ol' Charge 4 (with its bad quality band attachments) until I figure out something better...

Do you know which one has altimeter (considers elevation)?  I live in the mountains.  Thanks

Couldn’t agree more. I veritably hate this app. Using it to train and all my core stats are now poof gone? Overnight? Or buried in useless / the wrong types of graphs? Did they hand this too to a bunch of interns that needed to show something for the semester? Or design / engineers were tasked with doing something (anything but actually talking to users it seems considering THOUSANDS hate these changes and surely THOUSANDS more will just stop using it / are already hunting for an Apple Watch). I’m furious and immensely frustrated.
