Able to return to previous Fitbit app version

Woke up this morning to your new app. To say the least I am not impressed. It lacks color and is boring and adds nothing new to what was there before. I absolutely hate it. I am a longtime Fitbit user but this might actually change that on next purchase.

I agree with everything that has been said.  I somehow avoided the "upgraded" user interface until this morning and quickly found this forum of like-minded Fitbit users.  As I like to say, "Don't throw out the baby with the bath water!"

Fitbit, please, please, please, please give us the option to use the past functional and aesthetic user interface.  You have a lot of unhappy, long-term customers here who did not ask for this change.  Thank you.

nobody is staying with fit bit if this is the app they are staying with.

I called FITBIT to see what they are going to do about this.  they told me that GOOGLE is now part of FITBIT and THIS is the NEW APPLICATION.

I asked her to escalate the issue and she said she would pass it along for future updates.  I asked to talk to a supervisor.

When I spoke to the supervisor, it sounds like they are taking complaints and trying to make it easier to use.  not sure how long it will take, doesn't sound like this will be a fast process.

said that "at some point something will change" but he cannot guarantee anything.

GOING OUT TO BUY AN APPLE WATCH!  GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!

said they were "sorry to lose a customer, but they will be here if i wanted to come back". LOLOL

their PHONE NUMBER is  in the CONTACT US tab.  This post would not allow me to post a phone number,  i spoke with Yovann, supervisor.  Sounds like they are getting a lot of calls. PLEASE CALL!

I am not happy with the activity time-line. It used to be more granular (15 minutes, now 30).  Is not helpful in trying to estimate time on a walk or hike (or any other activity) when you're not using another timing device (Insight owner).

The new design forces more button presses to see less info. I used to be able to scroll through all previous days' calories out, but now I need to flick through days individually with a press. And, that info is now only divided into full hours, which is far less granular than  the previous 15 minute intervals. Please give us the option to choose how much information we want to see.

This habit tech companies increasingly have of forcing a style and shallow user friendliness over real functionality design is the worst.

The change in the app is really dysfunctional- too large. I use the app a lot and this does not easily allow me to see what I need to easily. I would like it changed back.

This is the worst app I've ever seen...a four year old could have designed a better GUI.

Although I've been a Fitbit user forever, but if you don't revert to the previous version of the app, bye bye and hello Apple!

The new app is terrible.  Not as intuitive, lack of color or visual design.  Looks like someone sketched this out and ran with it, no thought to usability.  You are driving customers away with this crap.

Do us a favor and let us keep the previous version, put the choice back in our hand not yours.

I agrée, there is nothing good about this update, it took me by surprise and I am very cheesed off about it! I may move awa from Fitbit which is a sham because I was very happy with it!  But that is a completely useless app now! Doesn’t fit my purpose any longer at all. Unless they revert I’m going

So frustrating  and unnecessary!  with decisions like this they won't be in business much longer anyway.

a) I miss the fireworks!! Not just the ones per metric, but especially the final big burst on the rare occasion when every target gets achieved. Please bring them back, or at least make them an option for those of us who need that extra push.

b) Why have the circles become a second colour as they monitor progress towards doubling the goal? Filling in the circle after reaching the goal was an immediate visual cue & the new checkmark is hard to see. Why lighten the colour after 100% and who is ever going to (or want to) achieve twice their sleep target?

exactly that :up_arrow:

With all the sections with the same color I have to actually read to know where I’m scrolling to 😩 please give the option to choose and roll back. The new interface is awful 😣

Woke up this morning to an awful looking Fitbit Home Screen, and I was missing data from earlier this month and freaked out a bit. The data came back after closing and restarting the app, but there was still data missing…I could no longer see excercise stats in the bar and some sleep items (I don’t use much else). I hoped online to see if anyone else had similar issues only to find out that some people’s app was trashed over a week ago.

I have only been using Fitbit for a few months and looked at some of the older layouts, I really like the one with icons similar to the ones in the weekly email report, and this new one is garbage. The design team has completely ruined the interface…plus it’s hard to see the top light grey bar with white icons to add exercise and sleep too. That is an accessibility issue and should not have made it this far. Fitbit has been around long enough to not make a simple mistake like that. The rest of the other screens besides the Home Screen look relatively unchanged (save for the accessibility issue), but worried that the Home Screen was just the beginning and the rest of the app is about to get ruined as well.

I help test apps at my company that get used across multiple generations, and I would not have let this pass. You should change it back before you start loosing customers. I also understand needing to update code, but updating code does not mean you have to change the color/style this drastically. You can still have a minimal looks, most of the older designs were minimal without having to sacrifice data and usability.

The new app is really bad, it no longer gives me my days over 10,000 steps. I have over 3 years of over 10,000 steps a day and it is the only reason I haven't replaced my fitbit with a garmin or apple watch which I have considered over the years. Now that the daily steps over 10,000 data is no longer displayed daily....it's time to upgrade.

Agreed. The new app is awful. Loss of functionality and looks like a child has designed it. Another not happy customer.

please contact fit bit so they do something about it sooner than later. The more people that complain the more likely they will do something about it.

I complained through the Chat function this morning, but was told the only way to actually lodge a complaint was through this community.

Bring back the daily steps streak banners!  I am on a streak of 1,032 days of 10,000 steps or more and that little surprise reward at the end of each day means a lot.  It is a tiny celebration of the discipline it takes to reach this daily goal.  Bring back the streaks banners!!

I wonder if the Fitbit app for an iPhone looks as bad as this. I'm Android and proud of it.

i have an iphone and it's ridiculous. When you open up the different functions, that looks the same. ie "sleep function", but it's the front dashboard. and some of the data is missing.  It's a mess

Yes I’m on iPhone. It’s terrible. Looks like a first grader or younger made it. Even battery life is not easily visible. The whole design is a joke Or I wish it were a joke.

I’ve recently updated Fitbit to sync with my Google account, the UI/UX is awful. It’s not motivating, useful features are missing and it genuinely makes me not want to use the app. Are there plans to change this or allow people to revert back to the better version?? I’m neurodivergent and it sucks to see Fitbit change like this…
