For the Versa 2, can we please have the Google Assistant, GPS, a Pulse ox. I'm waiting for the next full addition of the Versa. Please please please add these features.
I don't think this is something to doubt. Google is buying Fitbit for 2.2 billion dollars or so. It's been all over the news and on Fitbit and Googles blogs.
It would be wonderful if you could choose between Alexa and Google Assistant on the Versa 2. I read an article that y'all (Fitbit) tried to get Google on board with the Versa 2 instead of Alexa initially, but I think it should be an option... Now that Google is going to own y'all, I think it needs to become a reality. I would love to have the option to switch between the voice assistants on my app for my Versa 2. It would be so much more useful.
Hi @Kevin.rn.fit. That's a great idea and thanks for explaining why you'd like to have Google Assistant on the Versa 2.This feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your post here. Don’t forget to post a comment and click on the thumbs-up to show your support.
Just adding my support for integration with Google Assistant! I'm sure this feature is coming with the recent acquisition by Google, but please prioritize this high. This is the only thing blocking me from buying the Versa, which would be my 3rd fitbit. I REALLY want the Versa but won't get it until there is confirmation that Google Assistant will be offered in an update or the next device.
Just purchased my very first Fitbit watch; went with the Versa 2. Very sad to find out it does not link to Google assistant. Will likely return and get a Samsung watch instead 😞
Alexa is OK but not much use for those of us that prefer the Google ecosystem and want better integration with our Android devices and Google accounts. Given Google has recently purchased Fitbit, the option to replace Alexa with Google Assistant in a future update would be excellent.
Hi @jrodko91! Great suggestion, thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similarrequest. Post a comment or click on the thumbs-up to show your support.
I cannot understate how much I would appreciate the Google Assistant coming to my Versa2. It would make the difference between me moving my smart home to Google instead of the Alexa ecosystem.
I agree. Google has now bought Fitbit. Why are they still allowing a third-party assistant to be used when they have their own? Also, most people have Google accounts. Some people don't like Alexa. Why don't you just change it?
Adding mine! Google assistant is necessry! I would drop money on a new versa with it in an instant. I have the google nest and use assistant daily. I can control my hie lights through my watch and this integration just makes sense now that google bought fitbit. I look forward to what this merge will bring in the future of the versa!
Totally agreed with the other comments about not caring about Alexa. I actually specifically don't like Alexa. After all, I'd rather have a "search assistant" (Google) available to me via voice than a "shopping assistant" (Amazon). Alexa is not impressive.
Please add Google Assistant voice capabilities to Fitbit products. Alexa isn't a good selling point for me.
Also looking for Google Assistant. Alexa is useless for my use as everything is configured via Google Assistant and have a few seconds that don't work on Alexa at all, thus making Alexa worthless to me.
Hi @DoodleMaster, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to add Google Assistant on Versa 2. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.
I love Fitbit and I have been using it for many years. I have the Fitbit Charge HR which after 5 years or so the battery life just last a day. About to upgrade to a new tracker and was looking at the Fitbit Charge 4. I would love to move to Versa 2 if it was going to support Google Assistant. I have no use for Alexa as I use only Google at home. If I knew Versa 2 would support Google Assistant in the future this will be a no brainer. Please please please announce in the next few days that Versa 2 will support Google Assistant before I buy the Charge 4 🙂
Bump, +1 for Google Assistant integration. Making this only integrate with Alexa was a huge mistake. The father's day deals are great but I won't be buying one for my father since he is an Android user. I also won't be requesting one for father's day myself since I am an Android user. That's two more sales lost over this.
Hi @LaurenGuti, thanks for explaining why you would like to have the option to add Google Assistant on Versa 2. Thanks for sharing your feedback. I've moved it into a similar request. A lot of users are asking for this option, I hope we receive updates soon.
As we are integrating Google Assistant to Versa 3 and Sense, I strongly believe this feature can be also added to Versa 2 as Google Assistant is more user friendly and comparable for Android users.
I agree, since the Fitbit versa 2 and versa 3 use the same operating system, it should take no trouble for them to integrate it. I'd buy one of the newer Fitbit models, but thanks to covid-19 I can't afford it. The one thing that's annoyed me for the longest time since I've had my versa 2 is the fact that I can't access the Google Assistant, yet I can access alexa?? Who even uses alexa?
@LoganMD Exactly, we do understand that built-in speakers are a hardware limitation for the Versa 2 unlike Versa 3/Sense. But, activities like setting up alarms, reminders sync up with your phone and you won't miss an alarm if you forgot to wear your Versa 2.
Above all, Fitbit is now a part of Google and Fitbit Versa 2 is running on Amazon Alexa !!! Really ?
