I'm amazed you are even allowed to sell fitbits in the UK as having this feature. The only recognisable bank on that list is Santander.
It seems like there's been no movement on this for about two years now. Very disappointed seeing as how the payment feature was one of the reasons I went with a fitbit.
I would just like to say that I have reported Fitbit to the Advertising Standards Authority due to the misleading claims about Fitbit Pay regarding bank compatibility; hopefully that will result in them getting a shift-on to fix this issue which has been going on for far too long.
Luckily, I have switched banks to Santander which is compatible (not just because of Fitbit lol, HSBC were rubbish) and I'm yet to get a Fitbit Pay device but it still isn't right that people are clearly being mislead here
I've had issues with every single aspect of setting this thing up, from not being able to download the fitbit connect app due to the UK link not existing, music not playing, tracker not syncing to the phone.
Just got a fitbit, was excited to set everything up, i cannot believe that there are no major UK banks supported... come on this forum to find that fitbit seems to not care one ounce about UK customers. How are they such a well known brand, they definitely do not seem to deserve it?! Seriously Fitbit get your act together, this is probably a 10 minute call to each of the big banks to set up and you probably instantly gain, rather than lose, 1000s of people who will happily now upgrade rather than switch to a different brand. (In my honest opinion you should ditch fitbit pay and hurry up and get google/apple pay rolled out to everyone to make up for this bulls**t)
In the UK we hardly have any of the major banks and only a couple of obscure credit cards. Fitpay needs to be more widely available. HSBC is a definite one to include as it has a large number of customers.
Seriously do not waste your time posting on this line. It doesn't matter whether they are listening or not, they cannot do anything about it. The following is the response I received via twitter in 2019:
Thanks for your feedback. Please contact your bank and tell them you want to use Fitbit Pay. You can ask them to see https://t.co/PatEk1vf2T. Note: It’s up to your bank to decide if they want to support Fitbit Pay. Thanks for your patience. Let us know if you have any questions.
I cannot fault fitbits hardware support services I have nothing but praise, but their software/services support is clearly flawed. If this sort of function (pay services) is a priority then look elsewhere.
I think the feedback form may be better as there are probably good reasons it isn't currently offered.l, but if enough people ask it may be considered.
I got round the lack of HSBC support for Fit bit pay by using the Revolut app. You open a free account and then just transfer money to it to use for contactless payments. I set up a standing order so I don’t have to worry about low funds.
Please add all HSBC cards to Fitbit pay. I have a debit card and really want to use it’s wallet feature with my card. I just got my charge 4 so I really need the card feature to work. Add it to Fitbit pay Uk since there is a very thin amount of banks on it
Hi @BenJustice, thanks for sharing this suggestion about adding all HSBC cards to Fitbit Pay with us. This idea was already requested in the Feature Suggestions board, so I’ve moved your post here. This will help us to make sure the suggestions don't get confused, or split a popular vote. Click on the thumbs-up to show your support.
@LizzyFitbit the post has been here for over 3 years, whilst it may only have 185 votes I am sure this is not reflective of the disappointment many users have in there being no real pay option in the UK. My summary would be if it was a commercial requirement and FitBit could track lost sales it would have been done, as it has not been implemented lets presume it will never be, and therefore every time a user adds to the post it will be a form of amusement or incandescent rage for all those following it. Thanks for amusing me!
@Weaveriski here, here! I agree completely…Fitbit seems to be an absolute farce of a company run by bots who offer no real help to those in need. Shame I enjoy my FB Sense so much, else I would of definitely jumped ship to the Apple Watch by now!
Now I just follow this thread as a form of amusement for myself on dreary rainy days.
Kids - do yourself a favour - if you are expecting HSBC on fitbit pay, save yourself the hassle…get an Apple Watch instead.
Thank you both for posting, reminded me to unsubscribe from this utterly pointless thread. I've slung my Fitbit in the bin after another hardware failure, won't be getting another so I'm done and dusted. Good luck to you all (you'll need it with these people).
My Fitbit versa screen has just become detached from the watch so certainly will not be waterproof now as it is hanging off. Annoyingly the warranty expired 5 months ago. Fitbit offered me a 35% discount off a new watch but why would I buy one when the screen became detached in my existing one!
I agree. Add hsbc and other main uk banks to Fitbit pay. I bought a versa 3 based partly on the pay function as an alternative purchase to an Apple Watch as I like the Fitbit app. I was very disappointed to see so few banks available in the uk esp compared to apple and felt a little mislead. Add more banks.
Just adding my name to this feature request. Pretty surprised Fitbit Pay is even an advertised feature in the UK with this lack of support from the major banks.
