Add Interval Training Timer (HIIT) That Buzzes at a Certain Pace

Hello,
I'm excited about the new products. I am a run/walker, and in training for my recent marathon, a friend had a garmin watch that vibrated at certain intervals. (Ex: if I wanted to have a pace of 3min run/1min walk it would vibrate at those intervals to keep me on track).

Please make a update for multiple timers , it's really distracting to have to push the X and then the play over and over.. Maybe have it on the dashboard so you can put in 12 rounds at 30 and ten seconds rest I between or somthing would be awesome .. Thanks

I'm in agreement with others - an interval training feature would be great.  I have a Garmin that's at least 6 years old that has an interval feature.  While I'm not a super technical person, I can't help but think that it shoudn't be that hard to incorporate this pre-existing technology in a new device.

Thanks!

Please add the interval timer.  This feature is such a basic component of any watch advertised as a "fitness" watch.  Hard to believe this oversight!

I too would like an Interval timer on blaze please. Customizable for active period and rest period lengths for HIIT training.

Got a Surge and was Super excited with this "Super Watch" but no Interval Training. I run 5k races and do a lot of Interval sessions so I have to keep going back to my 10 year old Garmin Forerunner.....not good enough Fitbit.

I totally agree , a free app for the iPhone can be downloaded to set basic interval timers.. A fitness watch should be able to do the same thing. Even if you have to set it on your phone and sync to the watch , everybody has there cell phone to do this. Its very annoying to push the timer over and over and instead of a 15 rest you end up having to do your work rest because to reset every time takes more time then just using the 30 sec work In between . Please fix this FITBIT!

I have to wear my FitBit Surge AND a Timex watch when I run as I use intervals every time. This is making me consider selling the FitBit and ugrading to something more practical. The FitBit was far too exense and takes up a LOT of space on my arm for somthing that does not have this basic training functionality.

Guess I should have read more carefully before buying 😞

How do we vote for this feature?  I would love to have something, anything, to help with interval training.  this would do

Make sure if you've stopped by this thread that you continue to "vote" for this feature by clicking on the thumb to the left of the original post that lists the current number of votes! Hopefully some higher numbers on there will help push this forward or atleast get us some answers as to whether this may be possible in the near future or not!

I for one am a little over rocking my Garmin + Fitbit tan lines from running with both of them on. lol But I NEED those intervals AND I really don't want to miss out on steps I took on longer runs.

This would make me the happiest Fitbit Flex owner ever. I honestly love my Fitbit so much, and I am also a run/walker. If it could buzz to notify me when to walk or run, it would seriously be the best. PLEASE DO THIS!!!!!

Fitbit have dropped the ball on this one team!!! All I hear is deafening silence. Why is no one responding to our requests? I'm considering 'upgrading' to a Garmin....such a shame

I think it is not so difficult to upgrade the firmware as the timer is a functionality already availabe.... The garmin fenix 3 hr is fantastic but the price is completely different (600€)

So, for two years people have been asking for interval timing ability. I'm ready to buy a new decide. I would happily have spent over $200 for one of your products, but am forced to buy a new Forerunner instead. I don't understand why you continue to leave out this feature. It certainly isn't a wise financial move, as many recreational runners who don't need all the bells and whistles on a Garmin, would buy your products with the addition of that one little feature.

I'm done also. Back to Garmin for me.

I love my Blaze, but I feel like it's missing just one thing to make it truly great. Please add an interval timer where you can set the timer yourself and change the length of excercise/rest as you like. Ex 40 seconds work/20 seconds rest (or 20 seconds work/10 seconds rest, or 30/30 or..well you get the point 🙂 ) for 15 minutes or 15 rounds with a buzz at the start/end of every new cykle and a longer buzz to mark when you're finished. This would allow for every type of inteval training including running, Tabatha, HIIT-circuits and so on. This shouldn't be too hard to do since the watch already has a timer and it seems to med to be an essesial feature to a fitness watch...

It seems by now they just don’t care to listen!

Is there any way to reach out to more fitbit users and get them to vote? I did a quick check and it seemes they only listen when there are more than x number of votes. I'm sure there are more than 703 people who would like this feature...

Hiit manager would be a great (and easy) feature to add. It woul be great to add an interval manager for running mode

No kidding, MickeyCon.  Garmin has interval timers in all of their fitness tracking bands.  It is like they are saying, "Interval training?  Of course that is included.  That's a no-brainer, who do you think we are? Fitbit?"

For $200 you can get a 24 hour HR tracking, GPS, music controls, AND interval timers in the Garmin Vivosmart HR+.

Garmin handles interval timer training by having the user set it up in their app, and sync it to the tracker.  Why can't Fitbit do this?  When I long press the button on my Charge HR, it starts a workout timer.  Why not set it up so that when I long press the button, it starts a custom workout that I set up to use intervals?  You can make the tracker automatically track a workout, but you can't let me setup a custom interval workout and start it on my own???  If you could just add interval timer training, I'd probably upgrade to the Surge so I can have the GPS and I could just listen to music on a small mp3 player.

So I commented on Fitbit's Facebook page about introducing more new products but not supporting interval training, and they replied (also, a thanks to Fitbit for responding, it actually means a great deal).  They informed me that the new Charge 2 includes an interval workout mode, and shared this help article about it: http://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/2100

You can have a "Move" and "Rest" interval, each interval can be between 10 seconds to 19 minutes and 59 seconds.  Then you can repeat a round of those intervals 49 times.  I hope this part gets an unlimited option only because when I run, I don't know how many intervals I'll actually go through to reach a distance.  I guess I can just keep restarting the workout until then.  You can use the connected GPS during this workout to track route, pace, and distance.  But at this time, it is only for the Charge 2, but they will announce if they add this to a software update for the other trackers, I'm guessing just the Blaze and Surge, no Charge or Charge HR update.  Again, that is just me guessing, nothing concrete from Fitbit.
