Add Interval Training Timer (HIIT) That Buzzes at a Certain Pace

Hello,
I'm excited about the new products. I am a run/walker, and in training for my recent marathon, a friend had a garmin watch that vibrated at certain intervals. (Ex: if I wanted to have a pace of 3min run/1min walk it would vibrate at those intervals to keep me on track).

I need interval too. Since it work on the charge 2, it should not be a problem for surge.

There is an interval timer in the blaze now.  Shortest interval is 2 minutes.

Anyone have any information when it will be update with this function for Surge?

Please add the interval training mode to blaze! It is fitbit's newest and better device for the moment, and it is necessary to have that feature to improve workout results. It is dissapointing that charge 2 has interval training and the blaze can not get it from a software update. It would make blaze even better, improve it please!

I would love interval training on the blaze!

I also need interval training on the Surge. Not only for running, but for weights and cycling too.

I was very surprised that the Surge does not come with this standard feature.

That is definitely a great suggestion.   At the moment the Trainer option is very limited.  Interval training (also PACE type training) are the most beneficial form of training.  Please add it on the Trainer options of the Blaze.

Please add HIIT to the list, as I can't find fitbit more useful elsewhere!

Can't beleive I spent so much £ on Blaze expecting it to be top end wth everything only to find no interval training setting. My kids cheaper Charge 2 have it. Can it be added to Blaze please.

Put me down for another person who wants an interval or a guided training program via the fitbit app. I'm currently using the Couch to 5K app and I love it, but I'd love it more if Fitbit incorporated this kind of training.

I "upgraded" today, from the Charge 2. I should have done my research first. I use the interval training feature 3 to 4 times a week. I'm not sure what to do now... I'll have to downgrade to get a single feature back. Also, one recommendation for interval training, give us about 15 seconds after we hit the start button to begin the cycle program. We REALLY need this feature added to the Blaze, please, and soon.

I hope interval timer is still being looked at. And while you are at it, a mileage timer would be nice too. I.e. Run 1/2 mile, buzz, walk 1/4 mile, buzz, run 1/2 mile, buzz....

Fitbit - you are not selling as many devices as expected. helping people with their training and fitness goals should be your next big priority to create a new revenue stream. Add a training timing feature to at least my device charge Hr and you can sell me some training programs. I do circuit training and could use some variety and a timer to help me stay on track. I use the 7 min workout app and pay for some of their routines but would prefer to pay fitbit if it meant i didn't have to carry my phone to the gym.

HITT and Body Pump would be appreciated and a nice added feature to the workout types.

After having a triple heart by-pass 21 months ago, I got a present of a Fitbit Blaze to help keep track of my fitness. I have it synced to my food app "My Fitness Pal" and both have been instrumental in helping me lose over 70lbs and helping me get from "very obese" to a "normal" weight. I really loved using my watch until more recently.

You see....my fitness has intensified from just walking as I get more well in myself, and now i'm in the gym doing weights and doing very light jogging. But the jogging requires very short intervals which my cardio guys recommended. I need to jog for 2 minutes and walk for another 1 minute. Not alone do I need to do this to get a bit of breath back, but to also keep my heart from going over a certain rate. I was very disappointed that a watch of this caliber does not have an INTERVAL TIMER to carry out this task. Nor have FITBIT reacted quick enough with a software download to correct this. Looking at the posts here, it's going on for over 3 years. The message seems loud and clear from Fitbit....we don't give a toss about our customers needs. It is very clear that it needed....and not just for some of us people..... but also just to keep up with the competition like GARMIN who have this feature on their watches for the same price as my Blaze.

If I had personally bought this watch, I would have sold it on second hand on eBay and taken the hit and switched to something that works like a Garmin. So instead of insulting the person who was kind enough to give me the blaze as a surprise gift, I had to buy a cheap timer for 20 bucks to track my intervals and use a second device. Its ridiculous......its ridiculous that a cheap 20 buck timer can master this, and yet my 200 buck fitness watch can't......and its also ridiculous that just for the sake of updating a bit of software....Fitbit are letting a good percentage of customers slip through their fingers....this is no question of this. And Fitbit....you also need to realize that most of your custom will be from "word of mouth". And how could I possibly recommend your product to anyone when I am now fully informed from my experiences, and now know that your product is not up with the competition. I won't be surprised that eventually you will go bust with your lax attitude and your inability to react to your customers needs and to what potential customers will be looking for in a watch in which the competition are doing.

@Pat03 Well done on your 70Ibs loss and improved fitness. Wonderful to read. I too think the lack of interval timer/training feature on the Blaze is ridiculous, especially given it's one of their top end products. They do have the software designed, my kids use it on their new Charge 2 wristbands.

I recently spoke to customer services on the subject, seemed it was avoided. You know the sort... try to open up discussion but get deflected without a direct answer of why it is amiss or if it will ever be made available with a software up-date.

Good luck with your continued fitness program and new found health status 🙂

@HappyPig

I agree totally with what you have just said. And that Fitbit has the software in the Charge 2 is just another insult to injury. If I was in the market of buying a watch, I would be looking for this feature and would have gone with Garmin or a watch that had this feature. That would mean 200 bucks in revenue slipped right through Fitbits fingers and they already posses the software!! And there must be thousands of people worldwide who have bypassed Fitbit over this. Talking about insanity!

Thanks you for your kind blessings and you take care too!

I gave up on my Surge (piece of garbage only lasts about a year until the band cracks) and went to a Garmin Forerunner. You can do all sorts of interval combinations on it so anyone interested in interval support may want to look into it.

I'm finished also. Went back to using my 10 year plus old forerunner until I get a new one. Fitbit are a crowd of smug pricks that don't listen at all. This thread has been going a lifetime and nothing has come of it.

Hey, folks,

This feature has been on your backlog as a request for 3 years. If you're not going to do it, just say so. But you already have this functionality in the Charge, so what's the issue with adapting it to the Surge? This is a basic feature in the Garmin watches, and to be honest, the Surge is a less-featured version of the now discontinued Microsoft Band (which I had and loved). If I'm going to spend this kind of money, I want the interval training feature that Garmin has had standard for years. Run/Walk is really a popular training method now -- you'd think you'd get on the train already. The lack of this feature is what's going to keep me from using this product and looking at your competitors. End of story.

Yes please!! This would be a killer-feature for me. It's a nuisance having to carry around your phone with headphones and an app which beeps every time you need to switch from high to low intensity. It would be great if the band just vibrated at these intervals.
