Add Lloyds bank to UK Fitbit pay

More bank compatibility for uk Fitbit pay versa users. So far Fitbit pay is not connected to any major banks in the UK. The very few that fit bit pay is connected to I’ve never even heard of. So as a UK versa owner I have the special edition and can’t use the very feature that separates it from the the normal versa.

is Fitbit pay going to compatible with the major banks in the UK like Barclays, Lloyds, Santander, HSBC, NatWest, TSB, Metro Bank, Halifax, Royal Bank of Scotland etc and also I haven’t seen any where (shops) that accepts Fitbit pay yet.

Exactly! No different from Google Pay!Perhaps Fitbit need to get in touch with Google, so they can teach them how it's done! 😏

If Fitbit are going to maintain their position of telling U.K. customers/users that it’s up to them to get their bank of financial organisation to sign up to accepting Fitbit Pay, then they should be making it as easy as possible for them to do so.

Fitbit should provide a list of webpage links, that take users to their respect bank website page where they can fill in a request form.  The form would be asking the bank, building society or financial organisation to accept Fitbit Pay for making contactless payments.

Please add Monzo to your list of banks.

Bought my special edition versa to use this feature so frustrating that hardly any UK banks listed.

I'm completely with you on this. Complete JOKE that fitbit only has a couple of banks. Obviously... prioritise boon over a bank like Barclays or Halifax.

Fitbit Pay is clearly an unfinished product.

I'm desperate for a Versa - but issues like this are pushing me away to other providers that actually DO offer this

Does Fitbit Pay require an active Bluetooth connection to work? If so, then the lack of partnering banks is the least of its problems, as it'll be just as useless as all the other Versa apps, given the ongoing Bluetooth connectivity issues that plague Fitbit devices.

Hi TeaKayB,  yes it does use blue tooth,  but I haven't had any issues with this. ...not yet anyway!

Add more bank companies to the Fitbit pay function. There is currently only 4 banks that Fitbit support in the U.K. there needs to be extras added so that function can be used.

Hi

Fitbit you need to move with this, many friends are saying the same and moving to other smart watches. I have just upgraded from Blaze to Versa and my wife upgraded from Charge 2 to Charge 3 and are both extremely disappointed that we cannot use the pay function in the UK via any of the mainstream banks that we bank with. Is this likely to be rectified soon?

This thread has been in existence for almost two years, and they haven't added a single bank since they launched it in the UK, so I am guessing they really are not planning to do anything more than they have...best bet, return fitbits and go with another alternative.  I highly recommend the iwatch, apple pay works great with the watch, absolutely fabulous!

Hi @lexi83 thanks for submitting this idea. I'm happy to announce that Santander has been released (list of banks on Fitbit Pay)

As you've combined multiple banks under one single feature suggestion, I wanted to redirect users to other suggestions with the individual banks listed:

Accordingly, I have retitled this particular suggestion to be around Lloyds Bank and suggest you add new feature suggestions for TSB, Metro Bank and Halifax. Thanks so much for participating in Feature Suggestions! As Santander was released and you originally suggested this as one of your banks, you will now receive a higher voting weight worth 5 votes. Thank you for sharing your ideas and enthusiasm with the community.

I’ve contacted First Direct (HSBC) this morning giving them some background and asking them exactly what their position is on this issue and most importantly, which dept would deal with such an issue.  Hopefully, I’ll be able to offer some positive info in the near future.

I believe Fitbit should look to add Lloyds Bank to the list of supported banks, It is one of the biggest Banks in the UK and I believe it would benefit a lot of UK users, I like Lexi have the Fitbit Versa, one of the very reasons I was attached to it was for the payment feature

Can't beleive these are the only banks compatible. Feel a little cheated as this is the reason I went for the special one. Suppose I should have done more research

Please add more used UK banks. Such as Nationwide, Monzo, Lloyds, Barclays etc. The only thing preventing me from purchasing a new fitbit is because of the limitations of fitbit pay

Hi there,

I am also needing Nationwide to be a part of fitbit pay.

My fitbit desperately needs replacing as it's now defunct.....(the original Charge) and I really want the Versa. I want the special edition for the fitbit pay...but obviously no point until UK banks/Fitbit sort themselves out....Please hurry up, I have gone weeks now without a tracker and it's not doing my renewed enthusiasm to get fitter any good.

***Also just to note, I did look into just getting a new bank account with this "Starling" and "Danske" banks but they want you to bank with them properly (do a switch from existing bank, no I Don't want to change banks altogether, especially for one where I can't go into branch in the high street....No Way! If I could have opened just a basic account and chuck some "pocket money" in there for using when out on a run, then I would have opened one. So C'mon Fitbit/UK Banks, get your heads together and get this sorted PLEEEEEASE.

Hi @mrsgen

I opened a Starling account without having to switch/use it as my main account?  I use it for putting in "pocket money" that I might need to use my fitbit ionic when out running?

It's a great little account and was free.

Setting up another bank account just to make use of the feature is a bit like the tail wagging the dog and wouldn’t be suitable for those who might have to pay charges for sending money to an external account from their main one, or might not have the leeway to put money into an account just in case.  Letting Fitbit off of the hook in this way, is not my personal choice, but will no doubt suit some.

Thanks RoblgoUK, I'll look into that again, maybe it's just the way they worded it.

I am also in agreement with Spaldingboy though - why should I go to that bother - if they sell a product in the UK with a feature that is not really up and running properly to mainstream UK bank customers then really they should not have "put it out there" to buy (ie, just sell the std Versa not the special edition, then get their people on it to get it "usable"  It's definitely not right to market a product (or to be more correct, to market a "feature" of a product that is not really ready to use.

I don't know and have never heard of Starling or Danske, so I'm very wary...... but just to have a tenner in there for that emergency bottle of water (or a bus fare home coz I've run out of energy!!!) would be ok. But then we need to put pressure on Fitbit/UK banks.........oh the dilemma of waiting to see, waiting to choose, waiting for fingers to be pulled out of bottoms(!)

All the UK Versas have Fitbit Pay, not just the special edition.
