I am considering buying the fitbit versa however it doesn't seem worth it until I can utilize the contactless payments. Please add Nationwide to fitbit pay so I can upgrade my fitbit!
Moderator Edit: Clarified subject and updated label
One of the reasons I upgraded to charge 4 was for fitbit pay but frustrated to realise I can't use it 😩
It's not even like it is worth me setting up an account elsewhere as other than Santander there are no main UK banks or even wallet apps that are compatible. Poor show and demonstrates how US centric Fitbit is, treating international customers as a second class afterthought despite the fact that they are important to the success of the company.
Yep, one guy used curve card as link between there own bank and Fitbit pay which does work and is easy to do as I did it myself, but I just thought this is just another security issue so I stopped using. On the bright it did make me bite the bullet and get a Apple Watch. But I do like my Fitbit watch but it’s now in retirement.
Exactly my thoughts I don't want one more potential security risk.
Google own fitbit, why can they not integrate fitbit and Google pay? I shouldn't need another card to use a functionality that fitbit are using as a selling point.
Hi@AP850, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback about the possibility of adding Nationwide Building Society toe the list of compatible banks. I noticed that a similar feature suggestion already exists, so I’ve moved your posthere, this helps to keeps the boards more organized. What I found frustrating is that it seems that in general, I’ve only heard of two of the UK cards they support (Santander and Deutsche) and only Santander has a significant market presences. Where is Barclays, Lloyds, Nationwide, HSBC, NatWest, plus all the hundreds of others? If I didn’t know better, I would say they only care about the US market. Hundreds of institutions are supported there.
I see this thread request for Nationwide to be added started 2 years ago. Nationwide is ranked 2nd as a Which 'Recommended Provider'. Yet still no comment from FitBit on if/whether Nationwide will be added, not even what it takes to become added. Very, very poor support from FitBit.
I should have added that while Nationwide is 2nd out of Which Best Banks, Santander, the only? UK FitBit supported bank is 6th. How do FitBit decide which to support - PLEASE?
We are devastated that the gift my family spent time researching and speaking to salesmen about doesn't actually have the features :hundred_points: active in the UK. Two days spent looking on forums and I have to break the news to them that major UK banks aren't supported .. we use nationwide and I see it's something that's been asked about for several years... This shouldn't marketed in the UK unless you support major banks .. there's not even. Way round it like adding Google pay 🤷 just doesn't make sense to me. Even if you add Google or Apple pay options this would solve the issues .
I'm saddened to see I'm not the only one disappointed with this 😔
Hi @Vickymc1991, thanks for taking the time to share this suggestion about adding Nationwide to Fitbit Pay. I've moved it into a similar request. Yes all my family and some friends use nationwide but this isn’t supported! Can this be fixed pls? I think Fitbit pay would be used a lot more if more banks including nationwide
FWIW they say you can get an account with Curve, one of those internet debit cards. You set this up with your nationwide account and then you add this to your fitbit . I have got the card but never got round to setting it up. I will check it out.

So dissapointed to see nothing has been acted, not even other UK banks! Bought my Versa hoping that atleast PayPal would be made available pretty quickly etc...as that can cover all UK banks users etc but its not! Google takeover doesn't seem to have helped as I taught it would. It's a waste of money really...all the working features of a Reflex smart watch that costs £20 approx. Definitely won't be purchasing for the kids and hubby as planned!
I really think nationwide should be added to Fitbit pay! It would allow ease of use for so many more consumers of the Fitbit line, and would further encourage us from switching to other brands.
