Add Water via Device/Fitbit on Wrist

Like with the exercise option, have a water item in the menu on your Fitbit. For example: the option 250ml, a tap to increase to 500ml, 1l etc. then press and hold the button to add. It would make it a lot quicker to add the amount one drinks.

Hi Liz,

Thanks for the update.  It's exciting to hear FitBit is pairing with a third party developer to find a solution to tracking water.  I clicked around the app and on the website.  Correct me if I'm mistaken, but it looks like this may only be an option for the Ionic.  Do you know if there are plans to develop a water tracker for the Blaze?

Thanks,

Nathan

As the title says, the option to quickly add some pre-determined amounts of water to the daily count directly from the watch.

There are actually a couple apps now that let you do this. There are some bugs, but just wanted to let you know

Existing feature. Please install the third party app called Water Logged. It does what the title suggests.

While there are a few apps already created, (props to the creators) I would like to see this be a native Fitbit app.

While I have no doubt they do the job, none of the apps currently available has the option of using the metric system.

Also, it would be a fairly easy feature to add.

I just received a Fitbit Blaze as a gift this January, 2018. I love it, except I wish there was a way to log water intake directly from the device on my wrist. There are menus for “today“, “exercise“, “fitstar”, “Relax“, “timer“, “alarms”, “settings“. It would be nice to be able to customize the order these menus appear (I rarely use the relax option), as well as adding another menu for “water“. You could set a default volume (16.9 fluid ounces), and have a simple plus or minus symbol +/-  to add a bottle soon as you finish it. Or, give the user the option to customize how they would like to input water (say, if they have a 20 fl oz water bottle). These options could be configured through the app, or online at Fitbit.com, but if the user typically drinks 16.9 fl oz water bottles, how awesome would it be to just tap on your device, swipe to the water menu, and press the + plus sign as soon as you finish the bottle? It would be TOTALLY AWESOME! Please, please, PLEASE add this feature to the Blaze firmware!

Ditto to Southpaw and ExperiencePeace's comments.  Props to the developers of the Water app for the Ionic and it would be nice if this was a native Fitbit app available on the Blaze.

The touch screen on the Blaze would make it easy to enter amounts of water I consume. It would be nice to have a list of 'regularly entered' amounts to scroll though, with the option to manually enter an amount if I hadn't entered it before. I usually forget to open the app and log water because it's more effort.

Hello,

I own the Charge2 and I thought it would be great if in the menu we would have an option to add a water glass or bottle intake by holding the side button as we do to start a workout.

It would make it easier to log in water if we don't have to carry or pull ou the phone every time.

It could also be added to other watch that have buttons and menu I believe

Thank you for considering it 🙂

So Ionic now has it but Blaze still doesn’t though it was originally asked to be a Blaze watch feature Cat LOL.

i was wondering if there could be a way to quickly add water consumption on the watch itself instead of going into my phone or desktop app.

Yes @SC94 some non Fitbit developer wrote an app to do this through the ionic. I also noticed the OP classified the request for a future product and not for a specific Fitbit device.

@marsbar99 that is what this request is about

There should be a water tracker app that doesn't need to sync with the Fitbit app to log water.  There should be a small amount of storage in the app that can store water information and log it on the Fitbit app whenever the watch syncs.  Would be very helpful as I don't always carry my phone with me.

Ditto. The thread originally began with this request for the blaze. Seems
like it's not on the ionic either. It would appear this is not an
issue/feature that Fitbit is interested in solving.

It would be a nice ability to add water intake through an app on the Fitbit ionic. Ps. Thanks for the hard work I know went into the ionic. I love it and Fitbit os 2 is a nice improvement. Keep up the good work.

I agree, there's been a lot of work put in to the new watches. Thanks,
Fitbit! I appreciate the improvements in design and features.

Speaking of features. Does anyone know if there are plans for
incorporating hydration tracking (re: Nix (http://nixbiosensors.com/) or
LVL (http://www.onelvl.com/)) in future watches?

Thanks,
Nathan

@88Alex88 the app would still need to send it's data to fitbit at some time. So yes at some point a sync will be needed. You could contact a developer about this .

@Kweela I suggest contacting the developer and ask about metric.

@Jedi4Jesus13 see the post above, you have your choice of two apps .

Since day one of your Charge 2 you have been able to remove and reorder the menus

Hi!

I would love to be able to track my water intake directly on my tracker. After I drink a glass of water I can just push the button and add it instead of first going to the app.

Love to hear what you guys think abput this!

Hi, you can add a widget to your screen for this and it works quite well.

@southpawlife why is it so important to have an app written by Fitbit.

The comunity has been fighting for years to have the option towritetothier own apps. Now thsttthe community can write apps i see more posts saying that apps need to be written by Fitbit. I simply don't understand that if an app works for the user why they feel it is nitnworthy to use.

Because we want the feature in the tracker we own. It's a feature easily added to existing hardware.  Doesn't need anything new hardware wise.
