For intervals run it is possible to create custom workout. However, tracking with accelerometer/GPS for distance isn't the most accurate, especially when running on a track.
Just to be more precise : I am on Pixel Watch 4, and I am aware there is a "interval" button. It could be used as a lap button and details could be retrieved with the Fitbit app however when shared on Strava the intervals are not registered as laps. In my understanding, the interval button is used to separate different "phases" such as warm up, cool down, and so on.
A lap button would make interval tracking way more practical, especially on tracks where GPS gets messy or lags behind real pace. It’s a small feature but would really improve training accuracy. Kind of like choosing a reliable west palm beach roofer you want something precise and consistent so the results actually match the effort you’re putting in.
